Publisher's summary

What do you do when the entire nation is on lockdown?

If you’re an heiress to a billion-dollar fashion company, then you quarantine in a glamorous cabin and finish your final semester of NYU online.

The best way to focus on her upcoming valedictorian honor is away from her family, classmates, and the paparazzi. Cameron St. James is ready to get out of the big city and head upstate for seclusion, despite her parent’s pleas to stay home.

What do you do when a pandemic is sweeping the world?

If you’re barely making ends meet, then you isolate yourself in your best friend’s mountain cabin with breathtaking views and no neighbors for miles. It’s the perfect safe place away from three roommates who don’t take the life-threatening epidemic seriously.

Elijah Ross is ready to work remotely and focus on his next big promotion, assuming he’ll still have a job after this.

What happens when things don’t go as planned and you’re stuck with the one person you dislike the most?

You improvise and do whatever it takes to avoid each other, though it proves to be impossible. The cold evenings alone turn into movie and popcorn nights together by the fireplace. Days turn into weeks, and eventually, more than just a friendship blossoms.

As the unknown haunts them, they lean on one another for comfort - until someone pops their safety bubble and threatens everything.

The Two of Us is an enemies-to-lovers brother’s-best-friend stand-alone romance set in the current affairs of history in the making. Though the character’s storyline is fiction, the circumstances are very real, and we’re sensitive to this topic. This is a story about hope, love, and so much more with a guaranteed happily ever after.

Loved this!

i definitely loved this one! it was a nice read and i loved that this book followed our current reality.
it's not all sunshine and rainbows for these characters because they have some issues they need to get over especially when it comes to each other.

things get steamy between these two and they can't deny their attraction any longer.
there was the perfect mix of humor, angst and some surprises that came in.

i definitely had my emotions played with a bit in this book but i'm glad that things worked out for these two.

4 stars and i definitely recommend this!

Awesome Story & Narration🎧Gripping & Heartfelt!

I loved this book, it is a wonderful enemies to lovers, brothers best friends romance. In true Kennedy Fox style it is a well written and well told story with interesting characters and storylines. I love the whole “Love in Isolation” premise and they did a great job incorporating the realism of the pandemic, capturing the seriousness and hardships of the times. They did not make light of it but they did lighten up the heaviness of it as the two characters come head to head. Cameron “Cami” St. James is a society girl who comes from money, she is finishing up college before heading to grad school when the pandemic hit. With the school closing she will continue the semester remotely, instead of going back to the city she felt it safer to quarantine in their family’s country home. She head’s there with enough supplies to sustain her for a while, her boyfriend will be joining her there as well. Turns out her brother told his best friend, Elijah “Eli” Ross, that he could stay at the house to self quarantine. Eli is asthmatic and wanted to get out of the city and away from his roommates. Neither one knew the other would be there, they were both surprised by the turn of events, Eli was happy about, Cami not so much. Eli always crushed on her and would love to win her over but she is so out of his league, or is she. I just loved how everything plays out, the story is nicely plotted, there is a perfect balance of drama and humor to lighten up the seriousness of it all and help cope with it, a touch of angst, lots of heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. I loved these two together and for each other, he was awesome with her, so patient and you could see how much she grew as a person by the end. Kennedy Fox, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Tor Thom and Emma Wilder did an awesome job portraying the characters, grasping each persona, taking the role and making it their own. Tor Thom played the perfect Eli, he brought out all of his emotions, Emma Wilder did the same for Cami with the added feistiness of the character. These two mega talented narrators are versatile voice artists and entertaining storytellers, it is always a pleasure to listen to their work. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

fantastic read

I read/listened The Two of Us by Kennedy Fox last month. I thought that I was getting a nice fluffy covid romance right, wrong. I'll honest I wasn't sure if I was ready to read this as things progressed in the story. Having lost someone so important to me to this virus it hit differently.

I love the forced proximity relationship between the 2 characters and how to their relationship progress from the moment they were together to the moment you know things happened. I found it in the way they cared for each other and changed pieces of themselves not for the other person but like for the other person.

I appreciated that this book wasn't solely covid centered and on the relationship and what was going on in their world and really excited to read the next book. So they didn't specifically call the virus in the book Covid they left that nameless but I mean anyone in 2020 knows exactly what are talking about.

Also, I absolutely love the narrators of this book they were fantastic!

Instead Cameron finds herself isolated with her older brother's childhood best friend Elijah "Eli" Ross whom she hasn't seen in years.

Pandemic Love

I loved how very realistic this was as far as the setting went. Also how Cami's brother Ryan knew she was going to be at the cabin when he sent his friend Eli there to quarantine. He had always had a crush on Cami.

Enteraining, Funny and Romantic!

The storyline is unique and refreshing and the first I read with topics about lock down due to our current pandemic.

This is a captivating brother’s best friend / enemies to lovers romance, that will get you hooked right from the start. The story is well-developed, fast-paced, with lots of humor, steam and romance that will get your mind of this turbulents times regardless if is just for a few hours.

I love voice actor Tor Thom's performances, and this is not the exception.

I loved this brother's best friend clos proximity story about Cameron and Elijah. I am so glad that it helped with the isolation that we are in with the setting of the story taking place during isolation. I love the fact that they get a second chance at love.

A Quarantine Love story

While I usually read to escape from real life, this book is all about two people who are quarantining together while New York has a mandatory shut down. So, real life, indeed! Cameron and Eli have known each other since childhood and Eli has always been in love with her. He never thought he was good enough for her, her family is uber-weslthy and his mom was their housekeeper. Story is an opposite side of the tracks, brother's best friend romance and the situation they found themselves in made their burgeoning relationship interesting to read. I always enjoy Emily Wilder as a narrator, she knocked it out of the park voicing Cameron. This is the first time I remember hearing Tor Thom, it took me some time to get used to his style, especially in the sex scenes or women's voices. But, overall I enjoyed the story and if you like brother's best friend/close proximity tropes, pick this one up. Looking forward to book 2!
