About this listen

A second chance prequel from small-town romance author Brooke Montgomery about high school sweethearts who find each other again after ten years and reveal secrets that change everything...

I didn’t know I was pregnant.

Ayden walked away from me a decade ago and never looked back.
The only thing he left me was our sweet, amazing daughter.
And a mile-long list of small town secrets.

When his father—the town’s mayor—threatens me, Ayden’s childhood best friend steps in.
And I have no choice but to fight the battles he ran away from.

I spent years looking for the only man who’s ever stolen my heart.
When I finally find him in Sugarland Creek, Tennessee, I go and face him.

He deserves to know the truth.
Not just about his child but his best friend, too.

No matter how much time has passed and how far apart we are, my heart still beats for him.
But I don’t want to get hurt again.

Even though I want to give us another chance, it’s not just my heart on the line...
It’s our daughter’s, too.

Come With Me is a prequel in the Sugarland Creek series. If you love second chances, secret child, and small town tropes, you’ll fall hard for Ayden, Laney, and Serena! Each book in the series is a stand-alone and ends in a happily ever after.

Ayden & Laney

What a great start to a new series. I am so looking forward to what else is to come. Ayden and Laney are so perfect together! The narrators made the story easy to listen to and flowed really well. They kept me interested and made me feel the emotions which is all I ever look for in an audiobook so this was a good one.

A Good Start

Ayden and Laney story is a good start to a small town series. It’s a darker more serious than, second chance romance than I thought it would be. TW: talk of abuse from a parent, rape off page, attempted murder on page.

Entertaining

Brooke Montgomery is a relatively new author to me, and I am shocked that I have not read more from this author. Come With Me is a prequel to the Sugarland Creek series and was an entertaining second chance at love listen.

When Ayden walked away from his high school love Laney, she was destroyed. That is until she found out she was pregnant and had no choice but to focus on her baby. She tried to find Ayden for years with no success until fate stepped in and she learned he was in Sugarland Creek, Tennessee working for the Hollis family.

After tragedy strikes Laney has no choice but to confront the only man she has ever loved and tell him the truth. I love small town romance books, add in the suspense element and I was hooked.

The narrators CJ Bloom and new to me Bradley Ford did a wonderful job with their presentation. Not only are their voices easy to listen to but they brought both the characters and the story to life for me.

So much emotion in such a short story

I’m so glad I saw this prequel before moving forward with the series. There was so much emotion between the character. It had me crying multiple times. My only complaint was that some of the conflict felt forced for such a short story. The distance and years between them could have been enough of a reason for them to struggle to get their second chance.

Bradley Ford pls narrate every cowboy Romance immediately!!

🎧ALC REVIEW🎧
Narrators: CJ BLOOM & Bradley Ford

Due to this being a prequel the listen was short and sweet.
However I would’ve liked for it to be a bit longer. Personally I think the second chance romance and secret baby tropes require me to get more time with the characters.
The conflicts that arose near the end felt too rushed only to the get immediately resolved.
They clearly never let go of each other despite never having contact in over a decade and it’s clear once they reunite that their love is palpable. Prequels are short I know, but I think a full book would’ve done their love story more justice.
Ayden, Laney and Serena make a heartwarming and cute family, I love that they got their HEA and made up for lost time together.

The male narrator (Bradley Ford) is phenomenal as Ayden. I was immediately hooked on his voice and it really gives off a cowboy Romance feel as soon as you hear him.
There’s so many side characters introduced in this prequel to the Sugarland Creek series. CJ Bloom & Bradley did such a good job at making each one unique bc tbh they’re a big bunch lol
The audiobook packs all the bittersweet and cowboy romance feels into one, perfect short quick listen and will have you curious to dive in to the rest of the series and meet everyone else at the ranch.

I Love An Audio Prequel!

What a great idea to have a prequel produced into an audiobook before the series officially starts.

Usually second chance romance isn't my favorite trope but this one won me over. I really enjoyed Ayden and Laney's story. It had sweet moments, spicy moments and did a great job of introducing the ranches family without making me feel overwhelmed by characters & a full length book.
I loved seeing Ayden develop his relationship with his daughter Serena. Daddy vibes!

Plus the little bit of suspense at the end was fun!
The audio was so fun with CJ Bloom & Bradley Ford doing a great job with the southern accents!
I'm ready for this small town series!

Amazing Second Chance

The narrators did a superb job with the southern accent and really bringing Ayden and Laney's story to life. This is a fantastic start to this series. I absolutely love this book and want more! Ayden and Laney reconnect after 10 years and it is like no time has passed. The connection these two share is beyond words. Once Ayden finds out he has a daughter he is all in no matter what. He just has to convince Laney. These two have some major obstacles to overcome but one thing that is not in question is these two are so hot together. This book has plenty of spice and angst, I literally listened to it one one sitting. Love the small town, chosen family dynamic that is beautifully woven into their second chance romance. Can't wait for the next book.

People meant to be always end up together

WOW!!!

This little prequel was so beautifully done. The way they start out by telling you about the Sugarland Creek family is nice because you actually know who they are when they have their time in the light.

The amount of "Scandal" and secrets that fell perfectly along with the second chance romance troupe. This definitely gave me a little bit of throw back vibes to Kennedy Fox's Keeping him with the secret pregnancy/child troupe and it was so cute how they became the family they always wanted to have!!!

The twists and turns will have you eating this book up. I finished it in 2 sittings and I cannot wait to re-read it when I have the whole series!!!

This book was what I needed to help me out of my little reading sabbatical. It was flirty, sweet, easy to follow with a dash medium spicy. Definitely recommend for someone who wants a real easy page turner

Cute, Cozy, Second Chance Romance

This is a childhood sweethearts, second chance, small town romance. The story is told in dual pov and follows the FMC, Laney and MMC, Ayden. The story line was fast paced and entertaining. The plot was a bit suspenseful and angsty with a tense father and son dynamic as well as some other story elements that I won’t reveal.
The chemistry between the main characters seemed to pick up right where they left off. Ayden is a great book boyfriend, he was eager to make up for lost time and get to know his child. Laney was unable to resist Ayden’s charms and I don’t blame her because neither could I. He sure knows how to back up his naughty talk and of course I luved that. 🥵

I enjoy the surprise pregnancy trope and this one was fun, cute, and cozy. I enjoyed seeing how Ayden integrated into their lives. Once they were back together, Ayden was determined that they would no longer be separated again.

We are also introduced to the characters in the next book. I’m excited to continue the series.

I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed it. It was dual narrated by CJ Bloom and Bradley Ford. The audio performance and quality was good. The narration was well paced with good vocal performances which matched the characters. The book is a prequel and is a short quick read with fast paced flow. The narrators brought Laney and Ayden’s chemistry to life. Their dynamic and banter was really enjoyable. There were no obvious quality production issues. The narration was without distracting background noise or extra auditory sounds. Overall, I liked this book. This was a good audiobook that I recommend was a cute, fun story, and easy listening.
