A deep dive into the Unabomber's ideologies

This was very eye-opening for me as a listener, the collection offers an unfiltered look into Kaczynsky's mind and how his radical ideas shaped his actions. It left me reflecting deeply about the intersections of genius and madness. I am an avid true crime and horror story listener and this was great. It is unsettling, thought-provoking, and unforgettable. The narrator is also a great fit for this content with his voice being stern but clear, perfect for the darker and serious tone of this book. Overall great for people who are interested in exploring the mind behind the Unabomber.

Gripping

This book is a controversial and unsettling exploration of one of modern history’s most notorious figures. You’ll find yourself grappling with complex ideas and moral questions that challenge the fabric of contemporary society. As you navigate Kaczynski’s arguments, you’ll be struck by the intensity of his conviction and the depth of his thought. Whether you agree with his perspective or not, you’ll find it difficult to dismiss the unsettling questions he raises about the impact of industrialization on human freedom and happiness. The clarity and precision of his writing might even compel you to reconsider some of your own beliefs about technology and progress.

Great book

This audiobook was intense and thought-provoking, but it’s not for everyone. Listening to the Unabomber’s manifesto made me uncomfortable at times, yet I found myself wanting to understand his mindset. The biography part helped fill in some gaps, giving more context to Kaczynski’s life and ideas. If you're into true crime and want a deep dive into the mind of someone as infamous as Ted Kaczynski, this is worth checking out!

Very interesting to see how the mind of a criminal

It's unsettling, for sure, but it gives you a window into some dark and complex thoughts. The manifesto itself can be repetitive, but if you're curious about the mind behind the crimes and how he saw the world, the biography at the end adds a layer that’s worth considering. Not an easy read, but it does make you think.

It’s not an easy listen, but it’s worth it.

The manifesto had me questioning everything about how we live, and the biography? Honestly, it’s disturbing, but it gives you real insight into how his mind worked. It’s not some light listen—it’s heavy and uncomfortable at times. But if you’re into digging into big ideas or understanding how someone can end up like this, it’s worth it. Just be ready—it’s not easy to shake off.

A Unique Perspective

I enjoyed this narrative of Kaczynski's take on life and his misunderstood reasoning of society at the time. The narration was clear and added the needed voice for a topic like this. The introduction and background of the audiobook were long but necessary to build the history prior to the actual biography of Ted. Good take.
