About this listen

Far beneath the streets of London, in abandoned tunnels of the London Underground, the age-old battle between Light and Dark brews. Are you ready to enter the Underground?

When Meghan Kelly, 18 years old and backpacking across England, descends into the century-old stone tunnels of the Underground, she plans on a hot date at a secret nightclub. Instead she finds herself imprisoned and in a fight for her very survival.

Kiernan has lived in the Underground nearly all his life. After his encounters with Meghan, he must choose between loyalty to his father and saving the human girl he yearns for - not an easy decision when his people face extinction, and Meghan might hold the key to saving them.

In this box set edition of The Underground Trilogy, join Meghan and Kiernan in their epic race for survival that spans hearts, paranormal civilizations, and continents. The box set contains all three books in the trilogy: Wings of Shadow, Wings of Memory, and Wings of Light.

For those who enjoy Fae, accents, & adventure

What did you love best about The Underground Trilogy Box Set?

The narrator did fantastic accents when in character and each definitely had it's own unique voice. I loved that the final book really wrapped up the series and didn't leave any burning questions unanswered. (Also the fact that I didn't have to really wait to see what happened since all 3 books are in this trilogy set was such a bonus).

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Underground Trilogy Box Set?

Any scenes with Wish, my favorite character. The world and the fae were so vividly painted, it made the entire series memorable.

Which scene was your favorite?

The garden picnic scene in the first book was so vivid that I had closed my eyes and saw it perfectly in my head.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Get entranced by the secret world of the Fae."

Any additional comments?

My only issue was that sometimes the narrator over annunciated words for the parts not being spoken by a character or in a characters tone, it got a bit distracting.I received a copy of this box set of The Underground Trilogy by Anna Kyss for free in exchange for an honest review.

It's OK.

Meghan is visiting England before starting college when she meets Kiernan. He drags her to an "exclusive" underground club where people wear fake wings. From the moment she meets his father at the club, her life is changed forever!

I'm torn with this book! While there are things I enjoyed, there was more things that annoyed me about the plot! I'll get the negative out of the way first. (may contain spoilers so read at your peril!!!)

Why in all that is good, would Meghan not totally freak out when she is imprisoned by Kiernan's dad, and then freak even more when Kiernan start's drinking her blood!!!! She just seems to take it all in her stride and eventually decides that she needs to escape. I so wanted her to be a little more assertive and kick ass.

There is another part that drove me nuts, where Kiernan's father shoots someone and nobody does anything!!!! They don't vow revenge, they don't even really mention it much throughout the books, he does it and nobody seems to care.

The love triangle!!! Ugh, so so annoying. The fact they are brothers also repulsed me a little. You do not go there!!!!

There are a few other nitty gritty things that annoyed me but there's no point in going over them now.

There are a few positives, I liked the world building and the world the author has created. It was well developed. I liked some of the characters... mainly Wish. And I enjoyed the settings. I just couldn't connect to the MC as she was just so indecisive and lack luster. Not my favourite book, but I know plenty of people will like it.

Meghan Lewis did a good job. She read the story well and was easy to listen to. I had no problem with her performance.

*I received a free copy of this but voluntarily reviewed it. This in no way affected my thoughts.*

Adventure gone south

Would you listen to The Underground Trilogy Box Set again? Why?

I was generously provided a copy of this audiobook by the author Anna Kyss in exchange for an honest review.

When I first received the book the cover captured my attention immediately. The narrator, Meghan Lewis, did a good job and kept a decent pace throughout.

Anna is a new author for me. I was not sure what to expect. The story overall kept my attention but lacked development. It left me feeling like there should be more. It is the typical girl leaves home on an adventure story and gets kidnapped, then needs to be rescued.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Without reading anything about the story or reviews before listening to this I was left a little frustrated.

What about Meghan Lewis’s performance did you like?

Meghan Lewis did a great job. She spoke clearly, kept a great pace throughout.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

There is no way I could have listened all in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I think with time, character development, and plenty of feedback; both good and bad, Anna will improve as an author and come back stronger than ever.

The Underground Trilogy

This was a set of three in a series. It is similar to other fairy, elves, human books but the story is solid all the way through. The story:Twin heirs to the throne,seperated,1 abused,1 not, fall for the same girl, angst ensues...a tyrant is overthrown. The little stories in between are the best parts!I was given this book free by the author, narrator or publisher.Meghan Lewis is a fantastic narrator! Her characters really come to life!

Fantasy romance at its finest!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would first like to state that I received the audiobook of the trilogy free from the author in exchange for an honest review. That being said, I love all things fae and this set did not disappoint by any means. The romance was decent, the characters multi-faceted, and the pace steady. I have to say of all the characters, Kiernan and Wish were my favorites. I liked Wish because he was just hilarious. Kiernan on the other hand, was brooding and forever doubting himself at first (I do love my brooding heroes!). Over the course of the trilogy we really get to see him come out of his shell and shine. Meghan was a decent heroine, she just got on my nerves at times with her indecisiveness (a bit reminiscent of Bella from Twilight). However this was a good set, full of suspense, magic, and love (not just of the romantic sort). Lovers of fantasy romance, buckle-up because this is one ride you don't want to miss!

What did you like best about this story?

If I had to pick one thing I liked best, it would be the tension and obvious affection between Kiernan and Meghan

What does Meghan Lewis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really liked that she gave each character their own voice to try and make them come alive.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment that most moved me within the trilogy was in Wings of Light, the third book. The scene between Kiernan and Meghan on the bus was so full of raw emotion and was the culmination of the whole trilogy for me.

Terrific! Highly Recommend if you love fae!

Would you listen to The Underground Trilogy Box Set again? Why?

Yes and I would recommend it to anyone who love the fae as much as I do. They really come to life in these books in a way I've never imagined before. I don't want to give away too much of the books - but I will say it would have been a shame if I had missed out on this series. I am SO grateful to Anna Kyss for gifting me this series in exchange for an honest review.

What other book might you compare The Underground Trilogy Box Set to and why?

J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter universe - because it's easy to imagine the main characters traveling to meet the fae in London, Sulles, Seattle and the elves in Costa Rica.

Charles de Lint's Newford books that feature fairies - because Jillian paints fairies that remind me so much of the Underground fae.

Seanan McGuire's October Daye series - because her ideas and Anna Kyss's ideas about the fae are similar enough that they could merge into one larger species

Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series - because so much of what I visualized while listening to this book merged perfectly with the fae from the Mercy-verse

The Lost Girl TV series - because the light & dark fae aren't too dissimilar from the ideas in this series

What does Meghan Lewis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She really makes Megan and Wish come to life. She also does a great job of changing her voice so you know exactly which characters are speaking - and that's not an easy feat. This trilogy had several major ongoing characters. I am impressed!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

So many moments moved me but if I had to pick just one I would say when the elements of magic were called upon.
