About this listen

Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack…and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member—and as his mate.

Great addition to the story

I read this story the first time back in 2009. I realized that "Alpha and Omega: A Novella from On the Prowl" was a new adventure for the story of "Alpha and Omega." Listening to the new novella tempted me to start this series all over again. Sooooo, I am now doing the happy dance because this series makes me happy.
The H and H are strong and good. The adventures are amazing, the action scenes are exciting and the entire story is compelling! PB pulls you into a wonderful world. I am not reviewing the actually book as much as just expressing how pleasing it is to start this series over again. Well I guess it is kind of a review if you realize that I spent money to purchase the books and I am now willing to purchase the audible versions of those same books.
So I am posting this to all of the books in the series, because I will be listening to them for this Christmas season! :)
Yes. This series is worth all of your credits LOL

Love Charles!

bookshelves: werewolves, mercyverse, reread

This is the background on Charles and his Anna in a miniseries devoted just to them. Excellent writing and characterization unusual in such a short piece. Loved it!
Holter Graham is excellent as narrator, both because of his natural voice and his performance.

I love Patrica Briggs's werewolves

This is the story of how Anna and Charles meet. It is a short story, originally part of the anthology "On the Prowl". It could also be purchased as a stand alone novella. Great story with great narration.

A new Twist on what an alpha female is!

What made the experience of listening to Alpha and Omega the most enjoyable?

The narrator was very good. He even sounded like I imagine Charles would sound like. The heroine Anna was in a very bad situation and survived. Charles didn't "rescue" her as more along the lines of setting her free.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Alpha and Omega?

When Anna understood exactly why she had been chosen and what exactly an Omega was.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Charles and Anna was in her apartment and he as a wolf curled up beside her.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. It is a very short book because it leads into the rest of the series. You need to have this book first to go into the rest of the series.

Any additional comments?

I love this series. It is well worth listening to.

Great start!

I actually read this novella after the first book on the series. It sets the rhythm for the series : interesting characters, well developed plot and skilfully told action.

Best Voice Actor I Have Heard

What did you love best about Alpha and Omega?

I find the story interesting and the concept of people being who they are.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Anna, hands down. I would not be reading it if the leading lady was not someone I identified with.

What about Holter Graham’s performance did you like?

I was initially disappointed and surprised by the choice of a male voice actor. The author is female, I am female, the protagonist is female and the cover shows the female character in human form 4 out of 5 of the covers. The feeling quickly dissipated though. Mr. Graham is an extraordinarily good voice actor. He made Charles character for me. I really had no feeling about Charles character when I READ the first few books. Listening to Graham's portrayal of Charles is so spot on. It improved the books for me and Anna and Charles relationship.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

You feel way to many feelings during this book, which is the good thing about it. The only definite thing is the drive to know what happens.

Any additional comments?

Brans voice isn't quite right.

Long loved.

Listened to this book from the library and longed to listen again. Finally swallowed the cost and dived in.
Love this novella and can’t wait to just to the next. Charles and Anna are dynamic characters with such an interesting world! So fun to fully dive in.

Finally!

What does Holter Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Holter can bring any story to life in full color! I have yet to come across a narrator that can do a better job. He can make even the worse book good. With him and the way he reads you can actually see what he is saying and feel what they are feeling. Now that is truly a experience not to be missed. Anything he reads is bound to be a hit.

Any additional comments?

I read this series awhile back, while I started with cry wold I must admit altho I did enjoy it that I was a bit confused because it felt like alot was missing. Had I read this before the first book I would of known what was going on right from the start instead of peicing it together threw out the first book.

A short story that gave me the taste to read on

I purchased this novella because I understand that this is a springboard for her new series which is a spinoff of the Mercy Thompson series. This is an open-ended novella about an abused Omega werewolf and the Alpha she meets. It gave me new knowledge of the meaning “Omega” and the taste to read on…
