About this listen

Single moms, you are not alone.

You may feel lonely, abandoned, overwhelmed, and ill-equipped in your life as a single mother, but you are not alone on this journey. God is with you, and if you are willing, he will help you build a strong home and legacy for your family.

As a former single mother, Michelle Lynn Senters understands you could use a little soul nourishment. In The Unseen Companion, she explores the 10 needs every single mother has and asks, "God, where are you in this?"

Avoiding clichés and hurtful platitudes, Michelle offers true hope from God's word. Her reflections, seasoned with personal experience, will help you:

  • Trust that God sees your needs and can satisfy them
  • Develop a vibrant relationship with God's word
  • Avoid temptation and counterfeit solutions
  • Strengthen your resolve and confidence to raise children of faith

Listen to The Unseen Companion and receive the encouragement your heart longs to hear: "You can do this, God is with you, and he will lead your family in strength and love."

Includes questions at the end of each chapter for reflection, journaling, or group discussion.

Required reading for single moms or anyone in leadership in church who knows one

This is a very biblically based, realistic view of being a single mom, it’s hard, but it’s not hopeless. And this book helps you with practical steps and food for the soul. It should be required reading for single moms (the audiobook is perfect, but I’m getting the print version for the questions and references) and for anyone in women’s ministry or church leadership etc. who works with single moms as it will give you a reference point of ways to help and understand.

Just what I needed!

I'm a single mom to 4 year old twin boys and it's hard! I sometimes struggle with loneliness or become resentful because I'm "all by myself in this." This book was exactly what I needed to put everything in perspective. I was hooked after just reading part of the introduction (I bought the hard copy before audible). Everything she talks about is so relatable. I needed encouragement, hope, comfort, strength, and a little kick in the booty to get out of myself and let Jesus in and this book gave me all of that and more! I didn't realize how much I was trying to do as an "independent woman" and keeping God out. There's questions at the end of every part which are great at applying what I've learned. I brought this book to my church and we are going to be doing a single mom's book study with it starting next month! The scripture references are amazing and beautiful.

The narration is on point. Her voice is calm and comforting and you can hear her emotion in it. I highly recommend this for any single mom!
