About this listen

You’ve cracked the Da Vinci code, now uncover the Vatican secret…

The deepest secrets are kept in the darkest places.

When ex-MI5 operative Joe Mason is sent to Rome to guard an elderly professor and his daughter, he thinks he’s in for an easy ride.

But on their first day in the Vatican secret archives, a masked assassin gains entry, shoots Joe’s client in cold blood and steals an ancient manuscript. Giving chase, Joe can’t imagine what could lie within those pages that would make someone willing to kill.

The search for answers leads Joe and his comrades in a race against time, across continents and into treacherous mountains. Only they have a hope of rescuing the Vatican Book of Secrets before a centuries-old enemy can succeed in bringing Rome–and the world as we know it–crashing down…

The Da Vinci Code meets Die Hard in this fast-paced, adrenaline-filled, action-adventure thriller. Perfect for fans of Lee Child and Clive Cussler, The Vatican Secret will have you listening late into the night.

Good plot

Lots of character pasts and why they act like they do. Bad guy is evil

Bad Guys/Good Guys

I bought this on sale, but there were no reviews. I took a chance and lost. I couldn’t listen beyond the first quarter of the book. I thought it would be about stealing a book from the Vatican, however it was stolen in the first couple of chapters. Then on to descriptions of good guys beating up bad guys. I have no interest in listening to fight scenes. So I gave up. I don’t know if I can return the book as it was purchased with $ and not a credit.

Waste of a credit

Really was looking for an escape and took a chance. Big miss on this one. Can’t get through the first 2 hours. I’ve tried many times

Not Worth A Credit

Not worth a credit IMHO. The book is advertised as a million best seller. I don’t believe it. The book is written at the 5th grade level. Lots & lots of adjectives. The dialogue is awful! The plot involves a worldwide group that is dedicated to destroying Christianity. Why is never explained, but this group existed long before the birth of Jesus. Somehow this murderous and ancient group is more cohesive, more well organized, and more driven than all other worldwide groups ever. (Yawn.) Reader is fine. Author is a Brit, so you will hear a lot of British slang. (No cellphones, just “mobiles;” cars have “bonnets,” etc.) I don’t have a problem with this, but mention it so you will understand what you are buying, if you buy. Spoiler: The secret is that Jesus was just one more “warrior king.” (Yawn. St. John, call your office.)

Awful Writing With Even Worse Natration

Not worth listening to. Narration is as bad as I have ever heard. Story is so ridiculously bad, for its grammar and plot, I had to stop 60 minutes into the audible play. 60 minutes I will never get back. A waste of time and money.
