About this listen
All three books in the Vintage Tea Room series together in this collection.
The Vintage Tea Room: end of an era and new beginnings
When Ellie decides to sell the tea room, she doesn't bank on her twin daughters showing up with ideas of their own. Her daughters have both left home - Jessica is married and expecting her first child, and Marie has built a successful career. She is ready for change and to leave the past behind; however, her daughters are not.
To complicate matters further, Ellie meets Michael. She was not looking to meet a man, but life occasionally throws in a few surprises. Maybe now is the right time to change more than just her work.
The Vintage Tea Room 2: room for a small one
Jessica is determined to put her stamp on the tea room by baking and offering a range of artisan breads. She plans to launch the new menu before the arrival of her first baby, in less than one month. Even though Jessica has not yet prepared for the arrival of the baby, she is convinced she still has plenty of time to get her new venture off the ground. Babies, however, have a habit of foiling even the best laid plans.
The Vintage Tea Room 3: changing times and new opportunities
Marie has a decision to make - take the job in Copenhagen and move away from her family or give up on her dream of being at the top of the advertising industry.
When Marie arrives back in Cirencester for her mother's wedding, she can't wait to share the news of her new job with her twin sister, Jessica. To Marie's surprise, Jessica is less than enthusiastic and gives her reason to wonder if now is the right time for such a move.
Marie does not want to burden her mom with news of her job or the reason she is having second thoughts. She confides in Adam, the temporary chef at the tea room. Despite being unsympathetic, he may have the solution to her problem.

Story
Alice Rose is a foundling, discovered on the Yorkshire moors above Haworth as a baby. Adopted but then later rejected again by a horrid stepmother, Alice struggles to find a place where she belongs. Only baking - the scent of cinnamon and citrus and the feel of butter and flour between her fingers - brings a comforting sense of home. So it seems natural that when she finally decides to return to Haworth, Alice turns to baking again, taking over a run-down little teashop and working to set up an afternoon tea emporium.

Sweet stories
What sweet stories. This is three sweet stories of the experiences of a mother and her daughters. The narration took a bit to hook me but we got there in the end. Give the stories a whirl and some time and you'll enjoy them.

A Rainy Evening Read that's My Cup of Tea
There's nothing like a rainy evening to make me want a hot cup of tea and a good book, which may or may not involve an audiobook on my smartphone. I'd requested and recieved a free Audible copy of this whole collection for review purposes, when a storm swept us in flash rains and a power outage. Luckily I had a full charge on my phone and a battery operated desktop tea carafe ready for this new relationship drama read.
The story is set in Cirencester UK, where I was already 'at the station' for my virtual Around the World in 80 Books Journey reading of The Great Train Robbery, by Michael Crichton. So, I stopped here for the tea and cakes. The story is built around a single mother who raises her twin daughters around the tea room business she started herself. Now that they are grown and one is married, she has decided to sell the tea room and buy a cottage. But, her daughters hate to see the tea room go. So, they show up with ideas of their own.
Lily Wells adeptly weaves dialog around the day-to-day lives of the characters, who quickly take on a life of their own. The mother is the focus of the first book, and her daughters, one pregnant, return home for a visit. The plot becomes involved in their lives, loves, and baking cakes for the tea room customers. By the second book, Mom is no longer in the spotlight, and the daughter and son-in-law with baby on the way are running the business, and are adding a line of their own baked breads. In the third book, the other twin has a dilemma of whether to accept a promotion that will involve her moving farther away from the family, and new nephew, while he will soon be a big brother.
The family relationships have their highs and lows and the conclusions are what you'd expect from similar relationship dramas. I did not anticipate the change in focus from the Mother in the second book, but loved it myself. The books are warm and emotional... positive lives making a world they are pleased to live in. The narration is of excellent quality, in a warm English accent, which I loved. I highly recommend this set of books for anyone who likes relationship stories.

So Sweet!!!
I loved these books!!! Simple little stories with wonderful characters. I just loved them all from the 1st seconds. Nano Nagle did a beautiful job with the narration. She really brought the characters & stories to life. I could just see it all happening, even smell it all. The Vintage Tea Room is outside my norm as far as genre goes & what I normally listen to, but I just adored this set. It even inspired me to make some bread. I highly recommend this set. It's just 3 sweet stories that will warm your heart. A great beach listen.

Sweet Series of Motherly Love
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is one of those collections you need when you want to get away from the ugliness of this world and immerse yourself into a fantasy one full of love, happy endings, and wonderful relationships. You'll find all of that and more in this series. The story of a widowed mother who had to bring up two children all on her own when the husband was killed in an accident, is a success story for sure when we get to know her daughters. I did find Jessica to be a little whiny especially in the first book, but let's blame her status at first pregnancy. All in all, the stories follow the adult lives of three women who genuinely care for each other with cameo appearances by the men who are able to capture their hearts. I'm sure the next set of books will unveil a new budding romance and a change in Marie's career. All is well in the Vintage Tea Room. Let's drink (a nice cup of tea) to that.
The narration was very well interpreted and gave each character her or his own voice.

Wonderful collection!
I loved this collection of audiobooks. Each book builds on the next but could easily be read alone. The women in this series are women who I would love to meet and become friends with. The vintage tea room sounds like a wonderful place to have a nice scone and a cup of tea. Nano Nagle is the narrator for this collection and she is wonderful. I feel in love with her voice.
I was gifted (and what a great gift) this collection with the understanding that I would leave an honest review.

Mixed emotions
No matter what the subsequent paragraphs reveal, I really did like this listen. I mean, I really, really, really did. The family was warm and loving, and the stories were the stuff of Hallmark cards.
I just really hated that the book description told me everything that was going to happen. Every. Thing. There were absolutely no surprises. It was a three-book collection and I knew how every book would begin and end.
If you have not read the description, don't. You're in for a treat. If you have, it's still a very pleasant listen. Just don't expect any surprises.

Just loved these stories
What enjoyable stories. Was so vested in the characters I hate for it to end. Each follows right after the other and I’m so glad. Narrator was great!! I love a book that comes to life. Keep them coming! Lite, no violence or sexual scenes. Just a joyful afternoon read. I received this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review. 👍🏻👍🏻
