Publisher's summary

Book Three in the darkly magical Witching Savannah series.

An otherworldly energy runs through the city of Savannah, betraying its sleepy, moss-cradled charm. The old, beguiling streets look welcoming to most - but certain families know what lurks under their genteel surfaces. Families like Mercy Taylor's, which has the most powerful lineage of witches in the South, know this all too well.

Mercy and her husband, Peter, are happily preparing to welcome baby Colin into their lives. But their excitement quickly becomes overshadowed by a gruesome discovery: someone has scattered severed limbs throughout the city. After a troubling visit from an old foe, Mercy learns dark magic is at play, and someone - or something - wants her and her unborn child out of the picture. To uncover the shocking reason why, the amateur witch must face a force beyond her power - or risk losing everything.

The third book in J.D. Horn's Witching Savannah series, The Void is a gripping adventure about the enchantment - and evil - that can lie just beyond sight.

I liked emmit too much for his story to be left...

I liked the story but felt that Emmit deserved a better ending than to just be left hanging.

Just okay

The last 4 chapters were a mess. The ending feels like a cop out. The reader was pretty good, though and the balance of the book was fine though not as enjoyable as the first in the series.

Interesting but confusing

Disappointing ending, I would not recommend this book because it changed into a let down.

great

I was very captivated by the story line, & I never thought that it would end the way it did. Very compelling story.

Rollercoaster ride!

I LOVED this series, and Marathon them, each book becoming better than the next. Laughter, tears, and anticipation

wonderful!

What made the experience of listening to The Void the most enjoyable?

Oh so many things. The series is amazing.

What does Shannon McManus bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does a southern accent well. Not to heavy but musical.

Any additional comments?

Take a chance on this series! I really don't understand the bad reviews, I will listen again.

*Content Sigh*

Boy did I cry the last 20 minutes of this story!
I absolutely LOVED the narration. This was definitely a great trilogy.
I excited to start Jilo. I imagine she’d have been played the late, and extraordinary great, Cecily Tyson had this been a movie/miniseries.
The story went somewhere I wasn’t expecting at all. I didn’t see THAT coming. Trying to express my feelings without giving away anything. Lol
So, I’ll just say a big, huge YES, read this crazy fantasy story!

Didn't care for last 1/3 of book.

It had promise but could have been more creative with what main character did after the void such as over throwing or containing the beings that the line keeps out.

So-so

The Line trilogy is fun but pretty derivative of many other fantasy stories. The in-depth descriptions of Savannah give it interest, as do the Mercy and Mother Gilo characters. Some of the twists caught me by surprise but the end seems half hearted and disappointing. Not a bad listen but not my favorite.
