But….. PLEASE teach the narrator to pronounce Japanese words correctly!! It’s rough hearing him mispronounce words like Kyoto, daimyo, etc.

Great Story!

Great story, very descriptive without being long winded. Great action. The only problem is that it ended, I wish I could learn what happened after he got back to England and how his skills helped him back home.

Loved this series!

I 1st read this series when I was in middle school and I come back for more every year. Although I am deeply saddened that the rest of the audio books are not available I will still go and read the ebooks. The story never gets old and is always fascinating . It is a wonderful mix of drama intrigue romantic tension and musings on war and what it means to be a foreigner in a foreign land . Tears will be shed in this book so I would not recommend for children younger than 12.

What I like about this was the weaving of many Japanese stories, folk tales and history in this story.

The one critique I have is the horrible mispronunciation of names. Every time the narrator say Yamato, Nakamura, and various others I found myself correcting it. Other than this I found the series quite enjoyable.

Fun and entertaining

Love this series. The one reading does a great job at character separation of voices. It was like watching a movie or living in the scenes
