Publisher's summary

The Weathering of Sea Glass unfolds as two teen lovers struggle to overcome the consequences of one fateful night. Instead of heading to college at the end of the summer of 1969, one mistake condemns Denny to 40 years in prison, while Jackie discovers she's pregnant, condemning her to life as a single mom in Agape, Maine - the tiny tourist trap from which they were on the verge of escaping.

While Denny seeks redemption in prison, Jackie is forced to use the resources and people around her to raise a child, whose paternity she keeps secret.

When Denny is released 35 years later, their lives collide on the very beach where they fell in love. As older adults who still yearn for the freedom they both lost, Jackie must decide whether to continue the lies she told her daughter and granddaughter, or let Denny know he has a family. This could put at risk everything she created in his absence.

The Weathering of Sea Glass is a tale of paths that diverge and reconnect during a time when freedom, forgiveness, and redemption take on much deeper meanings. While tides may weather and smooth the jagged edges of youthful passions, their journey proves it's never too late to unearth what time has buried and create their own destiny.

Beautiful

This was such a beautiful story. I love how it started and then flashes back to their love in school right before everything changed Then it quickly followed both of them through out the years always mentioning the other, because you never really forget a love like that. Then Denny gets put of prison and of course they run into each other on the beach, they one place they both can't stay away from. Eventually the truth comes out and even though they don't end up with each other, they do find their own happily ever afters. Very well done.

I've heard this narrator before and she did a great job with this book
