About this listen

Three women pledged together in friendship. Maybe I should tell their story. Maybe I'm the only one who can. After all, I'm the one who loved all three. But I don't fool myself. They don't belong to me. If anything, I guess I belong to them.

A rainy-day ritual - a tea party between three little girls - becomes the framework of not only their friendship, but their lives. Blonde, curly-haired Zoe Alexander is openhearted, kind, and free-spirited, but struggles with body image. Emily Waters is shy, diminutive, and would prefer to live vicariously through the characters in the books she reads. And Shannon Morell - tall, athletic, strong - has a deep sense of loyalty, but will always fear abandonment.

As these three girls grow into women, they forge careers, have their hearts broken, marry, and have children, but the one constant that remains is each other, and their regular tea parties. And when the unthinkable happens, the girls sit down to have one final farewell tea.

A light good read

Title does not fit the whole story. The tea shop didn’t exist until the last 30 minutes. It is about life and 3 girls growing up having tea parties. A little sad ending as well.

Friendship/Home

The friendship that evolves in this story is one I always wished for. As the 3 girls mature into woman, the need to see each other always draws them back home. The families that support them are what is missing in society, today. Sometimes, we all need to venture forth, spread our wings, test the waters, to find that what we really want is usually in our own backyard. I love the teashop, too - makes me want to visit one myself. After all, what would a story be without tea.

Best read in a very long time!

If you are old enough to remember how wonderful Danielle Steele's first novels were, then you will love this story. The author weaves a beautiful picture of friendships and love as it evolves over the years. You feel like you know each character personally and it is very difficult to pause during the story. Prepare to read through the day and or night until the very end.

The little teashop on Main

This is a great story about friendship and family. I enjoyed growing up with these three women. Their story is inspiring and making me wish I had these kinds of friendship. I look forward to listening and reading more stories from this author and this narrator.

Jodi Thomas Genius

So many wonderful characters, painted only as this gifted wordsmith can. And the best part is, she did it without offensive words and images. I have always been a fan, but this series is the best of her contemporary romances.

Kept me interested.

First book I have read by this author. She does a good job letting you get to know the different characters and following their story.
