About this listen

Performed by Glenn Hascall, this Brothers Grimm tale teaches us that the ability to talk to animals is a good thing, and if we could talk to them, we could even do wonderous things. Perhaps marry the Princess and live happily ever after.

Odd story, happy ending

I've never heard this short story before. I thought it was strange, one minute the servant is has to prove his innocence, the next turn of events, he is helping others and being helped in return.

The narrator is fitting for the story, his voice is soothing and I liked his accent. Overall, good story, good narrator, kid friendly, except for the killing of the goose, but it wasn't graphic or gorey.
