About this listen

In this exciting prequel to best-selling author Anne Stuart's House of Rohan series, when Kathleen Strong interviews for a job that offers a chance at proper employment, a mysterious group of aristocrats proposes a scandalous offer that she can't refuse.

Venice, 1740. Desperate, starving, Kathleen Strong makes her way to a job interview that promises a chance at proper employment... and maybe a bite to eat. Accused of "gross immorality", she's adrift after being dismissed from her governess position, despite being entirely innocent.

That innocence is precisely what a mysterious group of debauched aristocrats finds so alluring about Miss Strong. When they propose a scandalous offer that she can't refuse... she can't refuse. But if the darkly gallant Alistair Rohan, a gentleman involved in all manner of wicked deeds himself, has anything to say about it, Kathleen can escape her disrepute in another way.

Of course, the escape route looks very similar to the group's illicit proposition itself....

Too short and eeded fleshing out of the characters. Good short story but I need more story from the additive author.

Too short.

I really enjoyed this short story but wish it was longer and more developed book...

Short and sweet

Liked the leads, believed their connection and super cute ending. Recommend it to those that like the House of Rohan Series.

Very short but cute

This book is so short it repeats, but I loved it. I wish there was more to the story of Kathleen and Alistair. Their characters had the makings for more. My question is why not or will their be.

Too Short

too short...and misleading!, what's to happen next with them?
are all the books going to be just short ending?

way to short and sorta boarding!

It's too short! With those delicious characters, you don't want the story to end!

I look this and every book in the series but the last one is too short! I would be much obliged if you write another book for this series.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

True fans of the series. I've found the series OK, but not as compelling as Stuart's other books.

What was most disappointing about Anne Stuart’s story?

Um. From dissipated jerk to noble suitor in record-breaking speed.

Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen – was your favorite?

Heroine.

What character would you cut from The Wicked House of Rohan?

Cutting isn't the issue -- what's needed is addition. Like justification. Evolution of character.

Any additional comments?

I don't think this chapter (that's about how long it is) would be worth half the price.
