About this listen

Three sinfully handsome dukes, three scores to settle, three hearts about to meet their matches. All in one thrilling new trilogy from New York Times best-selling author Madeline Hunter.

Notorious nobleman seeks revenge

Name and title: Adam Penrose, Duke of Stratton. Affiliation: London's elite Society of Decadent Dukes. Family history: Scandalous. Personality traits: Dark and brooding, with a thirst for revenge. Ideal romantic partner: a woman of means, with beauty and brains, willing to live with reckless abandon. Desire: Clara Cheswick, gorgeous daughter of his family's sworn enemy.

Faint of heart need not apply

Clara may be the woman Adam wants, but there's one problem: She's far more interested in publishing her women's journal than getting married - especially to a man said to be dead-set on vengeance. Though with her nose for a story, Clara wonders if his desire for justice is sincere - along with his incredibly unnerving intention to be her husband. If her weak-kneed response to his kiss is any indication, falling for Adam clearly comes with a cost. But who knew courting danger could be such exhilarating fun?

Good intrigue with the story line

Really liked that it was a love story with excitement of unearthing a mystery and the little surprises.

Good but a little slow.

Starts very slow. I almost stopped reading but the story picked up and I wanted to see how it ended.

Weak Storyline But....

I couldn't finish this novel, mainly due lackluster narration. After 3 hours, the plot began to emerge, but I decided to quit. At the pace the storyline was developing, I decided that it would be sheer torture to continue.

Enjoyable

Totally enjoyable story. I liked the premise and how it ended up. The narrator was good but I would have liked to hear more of a distinction between the female and male characters

good story

the narration wasn't that good. it was hard to keep track of who was talking and when which made the story harder to follow. other than that I quite enjoyed the book it was well written enough to keep me interested and not wanting to skip any chapters.

Dangerous Dukes....

Duke #1 has his tale revealed in this first book of a new trilogy. I found it well written, attention grabbing and entertaining. The narration was excellent and the heat quite hot!!!! All in all a good book I will listen to again.

Clara’s insistence on not marrying.I loved everything

I loved every part of this engaging and enthralling story. The narration was superb which can make or break an Audible listening.

weak female character

voice actress does not have a range in voices so everyone sounded the same and emotional inflection was missing. supposedly strong female character was already "under his spell" in the 3 rd chapter. disappointing

Good book but

I loved the story, but the problem was that the performance was lacking. I had a hard time understanding the reader. Sad because the author is one of my favorite writers.

Loved this story

I love a good enemies to lovers trope. This the first book I’ve listened to by this author, and look forward to the rest of this series.
Rosalyn Landor is my favorite narrator, so
this performance was lacking for me.
