About this listen

While taking a break from his latest painting, an artist casually stands at his window, looking at the street below. Much to his horror, he sees a hideously disfigured man, a man whose features draw a repulsive shudder - the artist recognizes him from a nightmare foretelling his own death.Public Domain (P)2006 PC Treasures, Inc. Tale of terror ? Not at all.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

With the headline 'Classic Tales of Terror' I expected at least a little taste of fright. There was none. I'm trying to think of a scary or at least suspenseful scene and I can't come up with one.

What was most disappointing about Robert W. Chambers’s story?

What was most disappointing was the absolute lack of thrills, chills, or goosebumps.

Which scene was your favorite?

The story was bland. I don't have a favorite scene. Not even a mildly memorable scene.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Yellow Sign?

Please don't make me say it.

Any additional comments?

I'm sorry. I dislike leaving negative reviews. But come on Audible. There is nothing remotely terrifying about this book except the misleading title.
