About this listen

From USA Today bestselling author Sonali Dev comes the heartfelt story of a woman determined to reunite a lost ring with its owner, who ends up finding herself along the way.

Mira Salvi has the perfect life—a job she loves, a fiancé everyone adores, and the secure future she’s always imagined for herself. Really, she hasn’t a thing to complain about, not even when she has to go on her engagement trip to New York alone.

While playing tourist in the city, Mira chances upon a lost ring, and her social media post to locate its owner goes viral. With everyone trying to claim the ring, only one person seems to want to find its owner as badly as Mira does: journalist Krish Hale. Brooding and arrogant, he will do anything to get to write this story.

As Krish and Mira reluctantly join forces and jump into the adventure of tracing the ring back to where it belongs, Mira begins to wonder if she is in the right place in her own life. She had to have found this ring for a reason…right? Maybe, like the owner of the lost ring, her happy ending hasn’t been written yet either.

Critic reviews

“Golden Voice narrator Soneela Nankani takes listeners on a heartfelt journey of self-discovery in this sentimental romance.… Nankani's mesmerizing performance adds expression and nuance that illuminate Mira's insecurities and newfound passion for finding her own happy ending. Transitioning seamlessly to each character's voice, Nankani creates an immersive listening experience.”AudioFile Magazine

“Dev’s latest is an exciting romp through past and present cultural identities and familial expectations, exploring how wanting the best for our family members can be misguided and harmful if we don’t understand them.”Booklist

“It’s so rare to find edge-of-your-seat drama that also cracks your humanity open. There’s truly something about Sonali Dev’s There’s Something About Mira—it’s a book with so much heart you’ll want to wrap every character in a hug and never let them go.”—Ali Rosen, author of Alternate Endings

Astonishingly beautiful story with a flawless audible performance. It got me in all the feels— including embarrassing bursts of laughter with my earbuds in. My heart hurts with the depths of simplicity. Cannot wait to read more by this author. Five stars, highly recommend.

It was a beautiful story, fast paced but taking the time to get into details that made it feel real. An incredible journey.

Adventure, travel, and bittersweet love, bring this story that started with a found ring on the NYC street to the top of my recommendation list!

Great story with a main character I grew to love. Made me absolutely ugly cry for the last third of it though. In a hurts so good way. I will actively avoid this author unless I need another catharsis.

Most of the time you can anticipate what’s going to happen. Not here. I was constantly surprised by what happened next. The context of the story is family relationships. But the family is from India. In that regard it did feel a little stereotypical. But I’m not from India and I very much enjoyed this story… although it is not very realistic. You have to let go and simply enjoy, despite the lack of realism.

Unpredictable and Enjoyable

This was so much more than I expected. It’s 3 love stories that span cultures and generations. It’s also a story of finding your home.

Very good story

Such a nice story of love with Indian culture sprinkled in. The parents of Mira were, sadly, very believable. Great writing.

Thoughtful!
