About this listen

Time is a resource that has to be managed. On Discworld, the Monks of History store time and pump it from the places where it's wasted — li ke underwater (how much time does a codfish need?) to places that need it —like cities, where there's never enough of time.

But the construction of the world's first truly accurate clock starts a race against, well, time, for Lu Tze and his apprentice Lobsang Ludd. Because it will stop time. And that will only be the start of everyone's problems.Thief of Time comes complete with a full supporting cast of heroes and villains, yetis, martial artists and Ronnie, the fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse (who left before they became famous).

Does not disappoint

The cast for this was great the only reason I gave this book four stars for performance was it seemed to be lower volume then most books. At full volume it was easy to hear. I usually listen to books in my shop. I found this book was hard to hear if there was ambient noise.

Great writing, but bad audio quality

The review title pretty much says it all. This is a wonderful story with clever, insightful moments that also managed to be funny and entertaining. Unfortunately, the audio quality of this book is not very good. It sounds like an old radio playing at the bottom of a well. Turning the volume of the device up very high, allowed me to listen to it anyway, but this caused the audio to occasionally spike uncomfortably and becomes somewhat distorted. Anyway, as a blind person, I would rather have bad audio quality than no audiobook at all. Still it would be nice to have a better version with better audio quality.

This one gave me trouble

This one was a bit hard to follow as an audiobook. The narration changes between readers, and just when I thought I figured out the pattern, it did something else. I think the little “tings” were to denote footnotes, and the conversations between Death and Susan worked well with the two narrators. The quality isn’t great either.

The story is good, and I’m glad I gave it a shot. But I hope they decide to redo this as they have with other titles.

Why American narrators

Oh my, Pratchett is one of the great Sci Fi/fantasy writers bur whoever made the decision to use American narrators ruins this great novel. So very very disappointing.

Great story terrible audio quality

Readers are good and the book itself is good but the audio quality sounds like its coming from a cassette tape that recorded from another cassette tape. Also it doesn’t sync with the kindle version of the book if you were looking for that feature dont bother with this

Horrible Narration

Pratchett is as great as ever. However, the decision to alternate narrators was a poor one. Added to this is the jarring change in quality even within one person's recording. This is a real dissapointment.
