Winner!

Vivian Arend is an addiction to me. She writes about ordinary life, family and romance. Her characters intertwine and I just love the Thompson family! These stories bring to life the importance of family with a side of perfect romance. Narrator Tatiana is perfect at all the voices and brings the stories to life. This pair of writer and narrator are always a 5 star read for me!

Those Smexy Thompson Boys

One Sexy Ride is book 3 in the Thompson and Sons series and focuses on Len Thompson and Janey Watson.

Many years ago, the family suffered a great loss when their mother passed away. However, Len continues to suffer the loss to this day. He's afraid to get too close to anyone for fear of them leaving him again, like his mother. But Janey seems to be the one person he is unable to hold at arm's length. She is always around and flirting with him, even though he does not give her any encouragement.

When Janey's family moves and she stays behind to get their house ready to sale, Len finally allows himself to let go with her. It starts simple, but when the house is finished, and put up for sale, Len decides to speed up the timeline of Janey's departure.

What he is unaware of is that Janey has partnered with another contractor to refurbish homes in Rocky Mountain. When Janey finds out what he has done, she is heartbroken and hurt. Len made a decision about her future without discussing it with her. And we all know how one person making decisions for another turns out.

Will Len be able to grovel enough to earn Janey's forgiveness? Will these two be able to have a conversation about their future?

Tatiana Sokolov has narrated all three books in this series and she continues to bring the story and characters to life.

Let It Ride is book 4 in the Thompson and Sons series. It follows the oldest, Clay Thompson, on his journey to finding love while working through guilt of loving his friend's widow.

Clay always had a crush on Maggie and was finally ready to ask her out when his mother passed away. Because of what he needed to do for his family, he had to let Maggie go. When she came home married, he realized they were never meant to be and he became friends with Cam.

While traveling to visit family in Montana, Maggie and her husband, Cameron, are in a bad car accident. Maggie loses Cam due to his injuries. When she returns home, Clay is there to help her recover both physically and emotionally.

Clay has always taken care of people. When his mother passed away years ago, he stepped up and took care of all of his younger siblings. He would take Katie and her friend, Janey, shopping for clothes and tell them when the outfits made them look like princesses. He, basically, raised Troy and Katie while his father, Keith, grieved.

After recovering from the accident, Maggie realizes she wants more from Clay. She wants intimacy. But Clay is determined to just be her friend and help her heal and grieve. So it looks like she will need to seduce him to get what she wants.

Maggie does not want to forget Cam, but she wants to live life. She wants intimacy. She wants a partner. And she wants Clay. The question now is, does Clay want her?

When Clay brings Maggie to a family dinner, his father gets very upset with him. Keith believes that Clay should leave Maggie alone. His philosophy is that she found her one true love and she should love him until the day she dies. He tells Clay that he will not be at family dinners if he and Maggie will be there.

Will Clay be able to move beyond his father's words and sentiment? Will he tell Maggie what Keith said to him? Will they discuss it or will he make a unilateral decision? So many questions to be answered.

I understand Keith's resistance to such a quick relationship between Clay and Maggie. I do not agree with it, but I understand it. He is old school. When he lost his wife, he lost a part of himself. He chose to remain loyal to her and not move on. But he should not force that same philosophy on others.

Tatiana Sokolov has narrated all of the books in this series, and proves yet again why the author selected her to narrate another one. Her voice is smooth and she manages to have a good grip on the emotions running through the characters.

A Wild Ride follows the youngest Thompson brother, Troy, as he tries to convince Nicole that he is ready to settle down.

Troy and Nicole started out as friends with benefits. Their "relationship" had to be kept a secret since Nic is his best friend's twin sister. When she decides she wants more and is ready to settle down, get married and have children, she breaks up with Troy for no reason.

Her first date is a co-worker of one of her brothers-in-law. He is a nice guy, but a little dull. His idea of an exciting date is playing Monopoly after dinner. While setting up for the game, Troy drops by. He ends up crashing her date.

Her second date is another co-worker of one of her brothers-in-law. When they have car troubles, Troy gets the tow call and heads out (not knowing that Nic is there). When he gets there and she finally tells him what the date has done and said, Troy puts her in the tow truck and leaves. Without the car. When she tells her brother-in-law what happened, he gets the guy transferred away from Rocky Mountain.

Next, Nic goes to a speed dating event. Her first "date" is a dud. Her second "date" is, yep you guessed it, Troy. He is trying to prove to her that he heard her and he is ready for everything she wants.

When they finally sit down and have a long conversation, she realizes she does not know him as well as she thought she did. He tells her things he has never told anyone, not even his own family, and he swears her to secrecy.

Over the next little while, they share their secrets, dreams, hopes and love. But when a tragedy prevents him from meeting her as planned, will she decide he is back to his playboy ways? Or will she know him well enough to know something is wrong and he needs help?

Oh, and about the twin brother. Yeah, just wait for the confrontation between him and Troy. But I must admit I did not appreciate Nic's sisters treating Troy like a mistake she is making and she could do better. When the constant yammering comes to a head, will Nic still be speaking to her sisters? Or will her relationship with her family be forever altered?

As the final book in this series, Tatiana Sokolov finishes up with a bang. She brings out all of the emotions that are running through all of the characters.
