Publisher's summary

He's tall. He's dark. He's brutally handsome.... And he may be her only hope.

Kit Jernigan despairs of ever fitting in with her new tight-knit K9 unit - they've been through too much to welcome a stranger. So when a killer strikes, it's a fight to convince her fellow officers to trust her long enough to catch the woman she knows is responsible. She can't do it on her own. What she needs most is a partner: local fire spotter Wesley March.

Wes knows in his heart that Kit is right, and he's willing to leave his lonely tower to help her prove it. But the more time they spend together, the hotter the fire smolders...and the more danger they're in. A member of the K9 unit's inner circle is determined to have her revenge - no matter who gets burned in the process.

This time, it's personal.

Whew! Life is never boring in Monroe!

It’s been a few months since Sarah’s brother and his gang blew up most of the tiny mountain town of Monroe, CO. Enter the newest addition to the police force, K9 handler, Kit and her partner Justice. Kit has to deal with being the newbie in town and on the job...and her new sexy, if a bit reclusive, neighbor, Wes. As always, life is never boring in Monroe. There’s an arsonist/killer on the loose...Kit has her suspicions but no one believes her. Then Jules’s stepmother shows up...she gets her just desserts. The killer’s motive was astounding...and Kit is vindicated! Another great story!

sweet

Wes seems like a big good-natured and shy bear. The romance is sweet and not too graphic. Lots of suspense, too.

Excellent series! Thank you!

Kit and Wes to OutKast that find each other in the snowy mountains of Colorado this was a suspenseful full of action story! I believe this is the end of the series which was enjoyable. Hopefully maybe you will write some thing about Mateo Espina. He sounded like he might need, someone to love him! It was wonderfully written, and of course the narration was spectacular!

Love the characters

Katie Ruggle is such a talented author, who is especially skilled at developing fun, interesting, and flawed characters.
While the story at times can become over-the-top crazy (everything blows up, get sit or burns dow regularly), somehow that’s fine, you still just want to see what happens next.
I think that one of my favourite themes in these books is the way relationships are developed and valued, even where people have weird personality issues they are incorporated into what makes that person unique.

Great story!

I absolutely love all the characters. So entertaining! I did think a lot of the plot was obvious so it is probably more of a romance than a mystery book but like I said it was still entertaining.

Great!

This audiobook is # 4 in the series "Rocky Mountain K-9 Unit" and the last. I thought it very good with answering all the questions of books # 1-3. And some surprises in this book. I liked that Callie Beaulieu narrated all of the series. She does an excellent stutter for Sam.
I recommend listening to this series in order.
Enjoy 😁

Through the Fire

Overall it was pretty good. I have a few nitpicks about a 5’2” woman being able to move a 6’3” unconscious man but the mystery kept me guessing till the end, which I guess is all you can really ask of these stories, lol.

Finally

At long last a true strong female who doesn't whine or act like she should be allowed to perform tasks she isn't trained for. I was so tired of reading of women who felt entitled. As a strong woman myself, I expect others to earn their way not just demand their way by whining. Also, this book actually had story content and not just chapter after chapter of monotonous sex. The narrartor has a good voice even if at times it is difficult to know which character is doing the talking. Overall good job.
