Davey has never felt so alone in her life. Her father is dead - shot in a holdup - and now her mother is moving the family to New Mexico to try to recover.

Climbing in the Los Alamos canyon, Davey meets the mysterious Wolf, who can read Davey’s “sad eyes.” Wolf is the only person who seems to understand the rage and fear Davey feels.

Slowly, with Wolf’s help, Davey realizes that she must get on with her life. But when will she be ready to leave the past behind and move toward the future? Will she ever stop hurting?

New srory theme

The narrator had a good take on the emotions of the story and the story was new and intresting. I've never read or listened to story that was at all like Tiger Eyes.

Read the book when I was young

I read this book when I was young and had lost my dad to suicide. So much of this book spoke to me at that time. As an adult I have frequently thought about this story, and how moving it was to me. I felt drawn to read it again over 30 years later, and I’m currently glad I did.

Heart-Breaking without Cheesy Sentimentality

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend any audiobook narrated by Emma Galvin. She performs excellently and captures the characters' vocal differences without sounding forced.

What did you like best about this story?

This is the first book I've read authored by Blume, and I was quite engaged throughout the story due to how she deals with a very difficult theme to explore--death--without being preachy. If you are looking for a tear-jerker, this book is NOT for you. However, if you are looking for a book that is moving yet reserved, touching yet plausible, then I recommend "Tiger Eyes."

Which character – as performed by Emma Galvin – was your favorite?

Davey

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Most narratives do not make me cry. This book was no different. However, it definitely moved me. I recently lost several people in my life, so reading this book allowed me to step back and connect with the characters as they cope with death.

As good as I remembered the print book

If you could sum up Tiger Eyes in three words, what would they be?

Learning to Live

What did you like best about this story?

How much it I still enjoyed it even all these years later. I read this growing up and wasn't sure if I would still enjoy the story in my 40's but yes I really did as it's still a great read.

Which character – as performed by Emma Galvin – was your favorite?

Davey/Tiger was the my favorite but her little brother was awesome

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I would have loved to be able to listen to it all at once

Any additional comments?

This was well worth one of my credits. Like mentioned above I read this years ago as a teenager and wasn't sure I would still enjoy it but decided to use a credit and give it a chance. I'm so glad I did as it a wonderful story and well worth my time. Plus it brought back memories of old forgotten items such as cassette tapes, answering the phone in the hallway and just stuff kids today couldn't imagine.

a childhood favorite revisited

This was one of my favorite books when I was a young teenager. The story still holds up, and Emma Galvin's narration brings Davy to life in a way I never would have imagined. Very sweet to revisit.

Wonderful and Timeless

I greatly enjoyed this book. I lost my best friend almost a year ago, so listening to this book was fitting. I’m forty years old and I still love Judy Blume’s books as much as I did as a child.
