About this listen

How could God let this happen?

Just when crime scene cleaner Gabby St. Claire’s life is on the right track, the unthinkable happens. Gabby’s fiancé, Riley Thomas, is shot and remains in life-threatening condition only a week before their wedding.

Gabby is determined to figure out who pulled the trigger, even if investigating puts her own life at risk. But as she digs deeper into the facts surrounding the case, she discovers secrets better left alone. Doubts arise in her mind and the one man with answers is on death’s doorstep.

An old foe from the past returns and tests everything Gabby is made of—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Will her soul survive the challenges ahead? Or will everything she’s worked for be destroyed?

Every story I’ve listened to in the “Squeaky Clean” series have been fantastic, and am so looking forward to the next one. Best of all, Jesus is so real in these stories!

Christy Barritt has a talent for writing characters who come to life, with strengths and faults, and funny quirks. The books are easy reading, entertaining, and best of all filled with faith.

I love the Squeaky Clean Mystery Series

The author Christy Barritt really owns this unique genre. Not sure how she was able to pull off having a story about a psychopath killer but kept the language clean and gave so many great reasons to accept Jesus Christ as your savior. As a believer who enjoys listening to mysteries on Audible with funny, quirky but strong characters, I don’t see how you can do much than this series. And the narrator was superb as always. I can’t wait for the rest of the series to be on Audible.

Another great one!

I don’t think Gabby is narcissistic. I believe this is accurate accounting of what a lot of people would go through. I very much liked the book.

This book is a tremendous disappointment and the waste of a credit. I cannot believe Christy Barritt wrote this. Gabby better turn back into her sweet self, and out of the narcissist she’s become in this book or I won’t be able to continue on. Everything was about her and her needs and wants. Awful! Selfish, immature, and narcissistic to the core! I’m very disappointed in this book. I wasted a credit.

Thank God it’s over!
