About this listen

Despite Trials that Threaten their Path Forward, Hope Dawns for a Future Filled with Love.

Kat Wadsworth and Sebastian Jones never imagined their lives would entwine so closely. Forced to flee on a wagon train from a vengeful uncle and an unknown gunman, they live in a hidden canyon with the family that rescued them. But as the days turn into months, they each have separate reasons for wanting to move back to society, and the best way to the independence they desperately crave might be through a marriage of convenience.

However, settling into their homestead in Cheyenne, Wyoming, reveals a different reality for Kat. Her new husband becomes consumed by his inventions, leaving her feeling lonely and isolated. And just when they think they’ve left the danger behind, a mysterious attacker lurks in the shadows, threatening the new life they’ve built. Together, they must confront the perils from their pasts to forge a future with hope and the prospect of love.

I really enjoyed this story. It addressed serious social issues of the time in a way that was both interesting and intriguing.

I have enjoyed every book I have read or listened to by this author. This one deals w real issues of the past (women being locked up in asylums despite not being mentally ill and the horrific treatment there) but not so much as to be overwhelming. A lovely clean romance and HEA too. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Enjoyable, clean and exciting

I liked getting to know each of the characters in books 1 and 2. Each has a strong personality that is developed as the story progresses. The action is realistic, the mystery compelling, the setting easy to visualize. As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, I was pleased to find the Gospel clearly presented in book 2. It would have been good to have it also in book 1 for those who only read one book. However, the Scripture was there and the testimony of the believing characters is strong. There is a good difference between the evil and the good. Overall, I enjoyed these books very much. Good work to the voice actor as well. She portrayed each one as distinctly as she could. Thank you for the blessing.

This particular narrator simply ruined the book for me. I normally enjoy Mary Connealy’s writings and preorder them as soon as I can; however, if this narrator will be involved, I will pass.

Terrible narrator
