About this listen

In a desperate bid to escape the bitter reality of her children accepting her ex-husband’s new - and younger - fiancée, Lisa Cavendish travels from the UK to accompany her friend to a high school reunion. The last thing she expects is to fall in love with the school soccer coach who, it appears, holds as much regard for his child as her ex did when he walked out on them.

Aaron Taylor can’t believe his eyes or ears when he is introduced to Lisa. Sexy and funny, she has no idea how her accent enhances the heartbreak he endures waiting for his daughter to ask him to return to the UK. But after spending three short weeks with Lisa, he sees the answer to his pain in the eyes of the most phenomenal British lady he has ever met.

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was a quick romantic listen that got to the heart of the matter with a few twists and turns. The humor was well placed and the narrator did a great job with the British accents, not so much with the American. Overall I enjoyed the story and was glad that two wounded by love and betrayal spirits were able to heal each other and get over their painful pasts to discover a bright future.

Nice and romantic

This was a quick listen but I liked it because there was no instalove. The two star-cossed lovers had to work for the HEA. They both had issues (natch) but it was great to see them overcome all. (The female main character was a bit 'judgy' but she worked it out in the end.)

This was a nice, easy listen. I really liked the narrator as well.

I received this audobook free for an honest review. From beginning to end, this was a cute story. The author was able to get a full, complete story in such a short amount of time. The narrator did an excellent job with the British and American accents. The story line was fun as well as exciting. Lisa and Aaron have a fast relationship that benefits both of them.

I enjoyed listening to this quick little romance. Two people, both recovering from broken marriages, are drawn to each other. While there is a spark, will that be enough to possibly give love another chance?

I was given this free review copy Audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Don't let the length of this book fool you, it is a refreshing listen. Lisa travels to America from England with her friend while her ex-husband vacations with their children. She attends a high school reunion, and Aaron, the soccer coach takes a liking to her. He too has a past causing him to shy away from relationships. Rachel Brimble has written a story of self realization and healing. I really found this story enjoyable as Aaron and Lisa, both at stages of their lives where it's time to make changes and learn to trust and love again find each other in the most unusual of places. The story is smart and relatable. Narrated by Rebecca McKernan, the story is well paced and entertaining.

Quick romantic listen!
