Publisher's summary

A woman on board is bad luck...unless she is the key to finding a lost treasure.

Tristan Fisher and his brothers leave their father's fishing boat and return to a life of piracy, longing for the adventure and riches they once knew. With dwindling supplies and a restless crew, fate finally smiles on them when a storm at sea leaves behind flotsam. However, it is more than just boxes and barrels of supplies they find. Tristan and his brothers fish an old woman out of the water who claims to not only know the whereabouts of a treasure map, but who also says she is their long lost grandmother!

Scottish lass, Gavina Drummond's life is turned upside down with one tragedy after another. Now, disguised as a boy and with a treasure map secretly and unwillingly inked on to her back, she finds herself as cabin boy and musician to a dark and dangerous pirate named Tristan. He's not really what she expects and is surprised when he protects her from his cutthroat crew. The handsome man wins her trust and gains her interest.

Gavina needs nothing short of a king's treasure to pay back her father's steep gambling debts and to buy back her brother's freedom. Desperate to find the English king's stolen treasure, her only problem is that she can't see the map to read it. With time running out, it is crucial she finds someone to help her soon.

Tristan seems the likely choice, since searching for treasure is a trait of his kind. But if Gavina confides in him, she'll have to show him the map. And in order to do that, she'll have to disrobe.

Will a dark-hearted pirate discover he's unknowingly brought a woman on board who is also the key to finding his coveted treasure? Or is it not a treasure of silver and gold that he truly desires the most after all?

WOW!

I dearly loved this story! It had plenty of excitement, love and adventure! I loved the humor of the grandmother’s antics. It took me back to the characters that I had met before.
Brian does such a wonderful job of narrating. He has the characters brought to life in my mind.

Treasure

What we have here is an exhilarating pirate adventure. There are pirates, stormy seas, a race for treasure, kidnapping (Gavina is kidnapped by pirates twice), and family reunions. This story has danger and drama, but it also has laugh-out-loud moments. Except for some ruthless pirates and other evil doers, the characters are fun. Brian J. Gill’s entertaining narration brings these characters to life and you right into the story. Tristan may be the big bad pirate captain, but he has his hands full with Nairnie and Gavina (he knew they were trouble). Mardon, Aaron, and Ramble don’t make dealing with them any easier. I love Tristan and Gavina’s story. Romance on the sea is not easy for them. The attraction and chemistry are strong, but happily ever after might take a while. The Pirate Lords series (which could easily be subtitled The Further Adventures of Nairnie Fisher) is off to a great start.

Delightful!

This is a fun pirate romance. Such playful banter going on throughout the story. I believe I smiled the entire time I listened to this book. Well written, captivating, fast pace and lots of fun. Elizabeth Rose transports her readers to a whole new world and takes you inside the lives of pirates. This story has plenty of danger and excitement, keeping the reader/listener on the edge of their seat. Brian Gill does an excellent job performing this story as he brings each character to life. I highly recommend this audiobook.

New Series

Has a great start. Tristan is mentioned in the second in command series along with his brothers.
His story is a good one that features suspense, trials, a bit of humor, and of course love.
