About this listen
Series prequel to the Tarnished Saints series.
The Taylor Twelve: Sons of a preacher, but far from saints, these men are nothing but trouble!
Tarnished Saints' Christmas is an introduction to each of the twelve Taylor men when they were children. Told by the eldest son, Thomas, the author lets the listener into their lives one memorable Christmas. Each chapter is devoted to one of the brothers to show the trouble they caused in their earlier days, which carries into their present lives as well - therefore giving them the title of Tarnished Saints.
The story is followed by excerpts from each of the Tarnished Saints books. This is a 12-book series, but each stands on its own.

One wrong move can undercut your message. Believe it or not, our bodies speak louder than our words. Postures, gestures, and expressions convey reams of information - and often not what you'd expect. A smile, for example, is usually considered welcoming. But crook one corner of your mouth higher, and you project superiority, subconsciously chasing other people away. Without Saying a Word explains how even the subtlest motions have meaning.

Story
June 1957. One hot afternoon in the backwaters of the Deep South, a young black farmer named Tucker Caliban salts his fields, shoots his horse, burns his house, and heads north with his wife and child. His departure sets off an exodus of the state’s entire black population, throwing the established order into brilliant disarray. Told from the points of view of the white residents who remained, A Different Drummer stands, decades after its first publication in 1962, as an extraordinary and prescient triumph of satire and spirit.

In 1906 I was barely over 14 years old, and it was my wedding day. My older sister, Helen, came to my room, took me by the hand, and sat me down on the bed. She said, "You've always been a good girl, Maude, and done what I told you. Now you're going to be a married woman, and he will be the head of the house. When you go home tonight after your party, no matter what he wants to do to you, you have to let him do it. Do you understand?"

Sydney Henderson is a truly great man. As a young man, Sydney, believing he has accidentally killed a friend, makes a pact with God, promising never to harm another if the boy's life is spared. In the years that follow, the almost pathologically gentle Sydney holds true to his promise - at terrible cost to himself and his family. Stunningly beautiful and haunting, scenes from this magisterial novel will remain etched in the mind forever.

I love this book, it is set in a time when a family didn't have much, but with love, they made it, a preacher and his wife had 12 sons, and they named them after the apostles, they didn't act like saints, being boys they got in trouble, kids do that, but will it change as they grow up? this talks about the hard times and growing up

Great Christmas Short Story
I loved all of the characters. It gave me the Christmas feel goods without being overly Christmasy. It was a great introduction to the family.

Tarnished Saints Christmas
Would you consider the audio edition of Tarnished Saints' Christmas to be better than the print version?
The narrator did a wonderful job.He put so much emotion into the book.He made me feel like I was there.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I think Thomas was my favorite character. He was always getting himself into all kinds of situations as we're all of the brothers. I just think he seemed to find more trouble then the rest.
What does Brian J. Gill bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He makes the story come alive as if your right there.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I didn't't think I would but I did.I couldn't' stop until the story was over. It was just that good.I
Any additional comments?
I want to read each boy's individual story now.

Great series
I've read the entire series, and wish they would release them all on audible. Each of these brothers stories is entertaining. I love how the author intertwines the stories to flow together, and through each story a little more is revealed of the family history as a whole.

Beautiful family story
I loved this Christmas 🎄 story. Elizabeth Rose brought me a family of 12 boys who was filled with mischief in each of their lives. The humor made me want to not stop reading .A page turner for sure . I absolutely loved how they grew up and each took with them a little of their childhood.
Great great read. I love when I’m reading a book and I feel like I’m in the story with them.
Thank you

Elizabeth is a master at writing stories! I loved this tale of the preacher’s when they were kids. It also gives you a taste of after they grew up. I loved everyone of them.

Refreshing Story of Family
I won this book on Facebook by the Author!
I really enjoyed it. It's about a married couple with twelve boys! The father is a Minister and the wife stays at home raising, well trying to raise the raucous boys.
They all have Biblical names. They each have their own personality and get into mishief. But I loved how united they are and respectful to their parents.
Then, the author gives us excerpts in the coming books about each adult sons and their own story. I really enjoyed this book!

Interesting and enjoyable
I originally read this book in December 2017 and recently received this book in audible, a gift from the author and am giving my honorable review. I enjoyed it now as much as I did then. This is a prequel background of the 12books of sons of the Taylor family.. The father is a preacher and gave all of the sons biblical names and each book tells their story. You will remember this ordinary family and their antics. Worth reading or listening to. The audio is clear and easy to listen to. You don’t miss a word.
