Two shocking discoveries - her dead husband's secret novel and a body in Finny's town square fountain - nearly push Ruth to the edge of her sanity. The final kicker comes when her hairdresser goes on vacation to Fiji, leaving Ruth to look like Dickens' Miss Havisham. A crazy kaleidoscope of characters such as the uptight gallery owner, Napoleon Prinn; half-baked Dimple Dent, writer of fortune-cookie wisdom; Alva Hernandez, octogenarian newspaper boy; and Monk, the amorous town caterer, add to the chaos in the shadow of Finny's nose until Ruth finds herself in the ultimate do-or-die situation.

The opening scene of finding a body in the fountain of the town square quickly caught my attention. This book was a rather interesting mystery book as it stuck in religion along with many other elements. Finny’s Nose is a rather interesting town I am not really a fan of the name. The main character, Ruth, seems to have a lot going on in her life when we meet her. But she also seemed to be getting into everyone else’s business.
This book was not really the type of book that I would normally read. The narrator was alright, but at times talked a little too slow, thankfully audible has a speed feature. Maddison Thyme overall was a good narrator and was easy to follow. Her multiple voices brought the story to life.
There are two other books in the series, it will be interesting to see where the story goes from here.
Interesting Storyline.

What did you love best about Trouble Up Finny's Nose?
Interaction between characters. There is a lot of dialogueDid the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I don't think it was written to be edge of your seat. This is Book 1 in a series, so there's plenty of character development.Have you listened to any of Maddison Thyme’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't.If you could rename Trouble Up Finny's Nose, what would you call it?
Sorry, I always choke on this question.Any additional comments?
This series is touted as Christian fiction. I've always shied away from books described thusly. However, in this case I wasn't put off by that. There are several passages revolving around the character's faith directly, but not overwhelmingly so.I appreciate being able to listen to your efforts. Thank you. And I was also sent Audible copies of two other books by Dana Mentink.

No!If you’ve listened to books by Dana Mentink before, how does this one compare?
First time listening and probably last time with this narrator.Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Maddison Thyme?
Kate Rudd, Tanya Eby or Renee Raudman. Just about anybody with some intonation and animation.Do you think Trouble Up Finny's Nose needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Not with this narrator. Can we say monotone!! Worst narrator.
