About this listen

The star: Joley Drake was born with a legacy of unexpected magical gifts, but it was the gift of singing that made her an overnight sensation - a rock-and-roll goddess trapped by fame, fortune, and ambition. Heated by the flush of success, Joley could have any man she wanted. But there¿s only man who can give her what she really needs.

The bodyguard: Ilya Prakenskii, cool, inscrutable, dangerously sexy, and working in the shadow of his infamous reputation - that of a secret Russian hit man on the payroll of a notorious mobster. He's the last man Joley should get close to, yet when her life is threatened on tour, she has nowhere left to turn. But in the seductive safe keep of Ilya's embrace, is Joley really as secure as she imagines?

Christine Feehan is one of my favorite authors, and has certainly come through again. Great job.

Wow, I love every part of this story

Would you consider the audio edition of Turbulent Sea to be better than the print version?

No, but it works real well with the printed version. I can see both characters through the narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Turbulent Sea?

When IIya appears in the bus to help Joley get to sleep and how loving he is with her even though he tries to resist her. This is my favorite story of the series.

Which character – as performed by Alyssa Bresnahan – was your favorite?

Ilya is my favorite he is so strong and confident and yet he is loving and caring toward others. I love the spark between Joley and him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When IIya tells Joley about his childhood and he gets emotional. After all he has been through, he still puts himself out there for others.

love this book in print and now in audible.

My favorite of the Drake sisters books. The narrator threw me off a little at first but I found myself actually liking how she read. 10/10 would recommend.

The Best One Yet!

I have read all of the Drake sisters stories but Libby's and I have to say this one is the best thus far. The passion in this story is unbelievable. Illya and Joley has such chemistry between them you can just feel it.
Illya was so true to Joley despite her contrariness. Once I read Libby's story I will be listening to the Drake sisters again, but this time in order.
Despite the violence in this story, it is the passion and love story of their coming together that makes this story so interesting.

I want to give kudos to Alyssa Bresnahan, as she did a wonderful job with the narrating of these stories.

Probably the best of the Drake sisters books

This book still has some of Freehan's flaws in over the top eyerolling sex scenes and over the top obsessive love between the H and H. But it still has more interesting characters and is more face paced than the other books in the series. Jolie, the Drake sister with the magical voice, and her band members and their interactions are interesting and Jolie's love, Illyah, is a macho male. Sometimes he is too aggressive with Jolie and can be overbearing, but I still like him. There are some good shoot em up scenes in the plot and Illyah will shoot someone dead without hesitation. If he doesn't shoot them, he stabs them or breaks their necks. Fortunately the people he kills are truly low life human trafficers and killers so I guess it evens out. The Drake sisters and their men are involved in the story a great deal. Jolie gets the shock of her life when she finds out the full extent of Illyah's magical gifts. I vote this book the best of all the Drake sister books. It would have been great if Freehan had toned down her over the top melodrama and sex scenes, and I promise you I am not a prude. The sex scenes are just boring because they are so intensely absurd.
