About this listen

The first four books in the laugh-out-loud urban fantasy series listeners are calling dark, sexy, and hilarious!

Book 1: Life Sucks After You Die

What do you get when you mix an incubus bite with a vampire bite?
A shitastrophe.

All Danni Keller wanted to do was go to a bar and drown her sorrows in some alcohol, but she managed to get attacked by an incubus. Now she's being guarded by a hunky but oh so irritating vampire (who bit her too) while the incubus stalks her.

Being guarded by the sexy vampire probably wouldn't be that bad if not for the fact her perfect boss has finally noticed her. Try dating while a vampire guards you way too closely and an incubus tracks your every move, waiting to pounce.
Then there's some creepy hunter guy who also wants to kill Danni.
The sun wants to kill her.
Human food wants to kill her.
Don't even get her started on her family.
Life sucks after you die.

Book 2: Vampire Girl Problems

Danni Keller is half vampire, half succubus, and a full hot mess.

When Danni was younger she thought being a vampire could be kind of fun. You stay young forever, live in a castle, and play by your own rules.

Then she was turned into one and while the eternally young part is true, there's no castle. She can't talk about her age, she can't tell anyone what she is, and with an overprotective sire like hers, she can't even have a job or go shopping without a babysitter.

Danni knows it's for her own good and all since bad guys are always trying to kill her, the sun burns like hell, she still can't eat human food without becoming gravely ill, and she's not exactly your run-of-the-mill vampire but a hybrid with all kinds of extra issues, but still ...

Is it too much to ask for a girl to have a cupcake???

Book 3: Suck It, Sister!

What can suck more than a vampire?
Family.

Sure, Danni's sister is spoiled rotten and self-centered, but she couldn't let her die after she stumbled into an ambush meant for Danni and her hunky sire.
To save her, Rider had to turn her... and he's not too happy about it.
Danni and Rider's relationship is strained,
Danni's succubus side is acting up,
Daniel's looking at her kind of funny,
Danni's sister is turning out to be a major problem,
Selander Ryan's out there somewhere,
Rider's gorgeous and powerful old friend just pops into his room whenever she feels like it,
Danni's become Nannette's lab rat,
She kind of adopted a teenager...
and she still can't even have a freaking cupcake!

Book 4: Love Potion #666

Official job working security? Check.
Dragon sidekick along to keep her out of real danger? Check.
Mythological monsters let loose on the town? Oh, crud.

It's been rough adapting to her new lifestyle, but Danni's gotten used to the fangs and venom, and found strength within to overpower her worst enemy: her own self-doubt.
Now she's on her first official job as a member of Rider's security firm.
Assigned as security at Gruff's Bar and Grille in Moonlight, West Virginia, Danni is bored to tears until a man stumbles in, missing a few important body parts.
The overprotective Rider wants to take her off the case, but she's determined to prove she can handle the job and convince her stubborn sire she's tougher than he gives her credit for.

Narration is very bland

The narrator has no voice inflection which make the story very brining. There is no excitement to the narrations.

Self love

I love how I was able to relate to the main character. I suffer from self esteem and self confidence issues. I love that she found love and was able to love herself because of what her man was able to do for her and give to her.

Yessss

At first I didn’t like the reader. But I was hooked and addicted. Hoping more of the series to complete the story line

No

Another book with a very naïve, arrogant woman who doesn’t listen for her own good I’m only 11 chapters in and I cannot tolerate this woman’s ignorance, so therefore I won’t be reading the rest of the books

Juvenile and whiny

Getting through the first book was a hardship. The main character acts like a petulant teenager and the narrator verbalizes her with a whiny, helpless voice no matter what the tone calls for.
The series is focused around mature adults but the writing style and wording is juvenile making the entire series more difficult to relate to.
The narrator was the wrong choice for this entire series and makes me want to dig my eardrums out with a spoon.
It’s grating enough that I don’t believe I will even finish it.

Was disappointed

I understand you had to lay out the plot about her insecurities. It was overkill. The choice of narrator was a bad one. Halfway through book 1, I was like, oh, please. I won't be getting the rest of these books.
