About this listen

The moment a mysterious boy moves in next door to Sydney and Allyson Tate, both of their lives begin to change in ways that neither of them can ignore.

When Allyson meets Graham Copeland, she instantly feels like he's a kindred spirit - shy and awkward like her, someone who has trouble making friends. It's almost impossible to resist having a crush on him.

As usual, Sydney sees things differently than her sister. In her mind, Graham's odd personality and secretive past scream psychopath, not sweetheart. Her gut is telling her to stay away from him and to protect a love-struck Allyson from her own naïveté. But despite her instincts, Sydney is surprised to realize that a part of her is drawn to Graham, too. And the more Sydney gets to know him, the more she realizes just how right - and wrong - she is about everything.

A complex and engrossing story told by unforgettable characters, Twisted Fate is a compulsively readable novel, teeming with suspense.

Would you listen to Twisted Fate again? Why?

I would, if only to better understand the ending. I also really enjoyed the various narrators and would love to listen to them again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tate. I was really intrigued by her. She is independent, curious, and complicated. I wanted to know what she was going to do next.

Which scene was your favorite?

When she discovers Graham's secret.

Any additional comments?

This story is really complicated, and the final chapter is hard to understand. Even so, it holds your attention the whole time and is really entertaining.

Confused and bewildered, yet entertained.

I love audio books with multiple narrators, so I usually rate these books higher for the pure entertainment factor. I loved the narration, but the story wasn’t all that interesting or unique. Even though there is a twist in the end, it didn’t actually blow me away. Instead it made me confused and a little sad. I’ve read other books with similar story lines that I felt were just better written. Overall it was a nice listen, with no wow factor.

Great narrators but just ok story

This book was good, I guess? Kind of not sure how I feel about it. It would be a good book to talk to others about and I wish I had a hard copy so I could go back and read some of it again. I saw the twist coming but it ended weird.

I thought that the book was pretty confusing and creepy overall, but the plot twist at the end was certainly interesting. I don't prefer Emma Galvin as a narrator but overall I liked most of the narration.

Confusing and creepy

My favorite twist was the one at the end! Never would I have imagined.... (But I won't ruin it for you by mentioning what it is!). The other thing I loved about this book was how the reader is given the opportunity to empathize with Graham, is he so talented that you see what isn't real?, or is he a true sociopath?

I wish there were more books like this out there!
