If you like knowing a little bit about a lot of things...

If you like knowing a little bit about a lot of things this is the audiobook for you, with a 16 and a 12 year old it’s hard to decide what to force on them, it’s a conversation stater on long road trips.

Fun Fact filled bathroom audio reader, Cool!

Would you listen to Uncle John's Bathroom Reader again? Why?

Yes, my MS damaged brain could not retain all the neat fun fill facts told to me in on sitting so I will have to listen this several time to be able to retain any of it, but you may be able to get away with just one listen, you out there smart people, not me. So I will enjoy listening to this many times over just to retain a fact or two, so I can impress someone once in a great blue moon.

What other book might you compare Uncle John's Bathroom Reader to and why?

How I Know books, or The book of Weird and Unusual Trivia which is part of a set of Arm Chair Reader of Unusual History and Trivia, or Event collected in large Arm Chair books, (I have a set of 4 out 6 or 7) that I just love to flip through and find unusual trivia to read about or unusual history. They are lot of fun to keep by my bedside chair. I just flipped to a page that start out "The World's Most Expensive Foods" and goes on to give a list. Uncle John's is also full of unusual facts like that but of a little more history based and a lot more interesting.

What about Full Cast’s performance did you like?

I like that they keep changing readers so there wasn't a monotone problem like with the How I Know Audio Book. Which has a real problem with all the fact being read to you in a monotone and it just come of boring, No this book keeps it interesting by changing readers and keeps it exciting, I really enjoyed this book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

AMAZING FACTS to ROCK YOUR SOCKS, There is no plot just the fact nothing but the facts.

    Any additional comments?

I know i only gave this 4 stars, but I truly enjoyed this audio book it was full of interesting trivia, history and and well just stuff to make you laugh. It was well presented with different readers reading different sections and I enjoyed completely.

    Fun Facts @ High Speed

After all of the sci-fi novels I have been listening to lately, this was actually a really welcome change of pace.

I have always been a fan of strange facts and short anecdotes about interesting events, so this audiobook was straight up my alley. It didn't disappoint. It's pretty much exactly what you'd expect if you've ever glanced at one of these books in a friend or family member's washroom. No big surprises here.

My only piece of advice to potential reader is that you should probably only listen to this in small chunks at a time. As interesting as its contents are, I imagine that listening to this book in one full sitting would get really old, really fast.

    Lots of Fun Facts

This book is great to fill the short drives. You can pick up and stop it at anytime and not feel like you’re missing something or forgotten what the story is about. It is loaded with lots of fun facts. I only wish it was longer than 4 hours because it is so fun to listen to.

Just plain fun facts in a easy to listen to format

If you are a trivia buff like me and like to peruse the bathroom readers
such as Uncle John's Bathroom Reader. This is the audio book for you. Granted I am on my third listen through on this one to pick it all up. Of course some are more intriguing than others but on the whole very interesting material split up among several readers so you never get tired of just one narrator's voice.

    I craved more

I've long been a fan of Uncle John's readers, and have whiled away far more time than necessary reading them in the comfort and privacy of the smallest room in the house.

I was quite excited to think that Uncle John would now read to me in the car and while I'm out walking.

The listen was very enjoyable, with many interesting factoids, riddles and trivia.

The book seems a little dated (and I note the original reader was printed in 1988) but most of the stuff holds up well.

I liked the alternating readers, although there was one (a woman with a British-ish accent) whose manner I found a little jarring.

A minor complaint is that this is apparently an abridged version. I would like my full measure of trivia.

I hope that we will soon hear more from Uncle John.

    Great conversation starter

Where does Uncle John's Bathroom Reader rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It ranks among the top 20%.

What other book might you compare Uncle John's Bathroom Reader to and why?

It's like any other esoteric book on trivia. It prevents "facts" about stuff and to it's credit, cites the resource it was derived from.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

A little quick at times. Or, maybe I'm dim-witted

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No. All interesting in it's own right.

    Any additional comments?

It's fun, well narrated, though faced-paced at times. You need to rewind frequently to absorb some of the facts presented.

    Hilarious

For great jokes and wonderful trivia but a bathroom reader!
I was surprised that the audio was as good as the books.
