Protecting His Love

Julieta is a strong, independent woman who can take care of herself. When she meets Ivan, he is working as a bodyguard for Mina Hollingsworth. She is deeply attracted, but he's a mystery to her. What she doesn't know is that he feels the same powerful emotion. When a deranged stalker makes Julieta his target, Ivan is there for her. No one will harm her while he's her protector. I love these two characters. Julieta and Ivan have such a powerful chemistry. Ivan's tenderness and protectiveness toward Julieta touched me. I loved that this Alpha male put her needs and desires first. Under His Protection is a roller coaster ride of action and suspense. I couldn't put this book down. It's always fun to see familiar characters make an appearance. I would like to see more of Detective Carlito Durate. He has definitely caught my interest. Katie Reus has outdone herself with this Red Stone Security book. Sophie Eastlake's narration makes the characters come alive and increases the stories suspense. Under His Protection is definitely enhanced by the audio.

Fast paced, seductive, exciting & thrilling story

This was such a fast paced, seductive, exciting, and thrilling story! The chemistry between Julieta and Ivan was electric. When Julieta starts being stalked things quickly escalate! I am very rarely surprised with plot twists but this one took me for a loop and left me breathless both from adventure and love.

Total Hotness !!

Would you consider the audio edition of Under His Protection to be better than the print version?

Well both are equal as I loved the book but Sophie Eastlake brings it to life with audio

What was one of the most memorable moments of Under His Protection?

When Ivan and Julietta are in the elevator leaving the bridal shower for Mia and he lets her know he likes her.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Jules takes Ivan to her family's restaurant for the first time and her cousin just keeps giving her evil grins of awareness as Jules has only ever brought one male there before.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wanted to strangle River the man who got fired by Jules from her shop.

Great Audible Addition to this series

Under His Protection is Book 9 in Katie Reus’ Red Stone Security Series. I cannot say enough good things about this book series. I know I am a total fan girl of Ms. Reus’ writing, especially her romantic suspense. Under His Protection is the story of Ivan Mitchell and Julieta Mederos. Julieta first meets Ivan when he comes into her lingerie shop with someone he is protecting. He is a new employee at Red Stone but not new to security. Julieta and Ivan come into contact with each other in the next few months. While Ivan steals looks at Julieta – she thinks that he doesn’t like her. Julieta has been warned that Ivan is a “player” and at first she is hesitant to trust him. Ivan discovers that Julieta has a stalker and uses this opportunity to “help” her and also to acknowledge his feelings for her. The suspense is this book was well written. While you may be able to guess who the stalker is there a few paths you could go down to come to the conclusion. The characters are well-developed and there are some cameo appearances from a few characters in previous Red Stone books. There is heat and chemistry between Julieta and Ivan and some pretty hot goings on but that does not take away from the book and it is not the focus of the book – it enhances the way the relationship between Ivan and Julieta develops. There is enough suspense and heat in the book to satisfy both types of listeners. Sophie Eastlake does a great job with the audio character development. She manages to convey the emotions that the characters are feeling. There were no noticeable pauses or grammatical errors in the recording. I listened to this audio book on a solitary road trip, through the car’s blue tooth, and it kept me engaged during the tedium of driving.

Another good addition to this series

Whether you are new to this series, or a long time reader, know you are in for another story filled with lots of suspense, bad guys, a very hunky guy, and a strong female lead character.
Somehow this author manages to grasp your attention from the moment you start this audiobook until the end.
This story centers around Julieta Mederos, lingerie store owner and Ivan MItchell, a new Red Stone Security employee and former Army Ranger. If you are familiar with the series, we met him in a previous story when he was acting as a bodyguard for another heroine’s father.
Ivan has had an eye on her for a couple of months and when she is in danger of a possible stalker sending her text messages, and causing damages, he takes it upon himself to protect her.
The action is constant, and the suspense will keep you on your toe. And let’s not forget the romance and hot sex.
I wish to add that the narrator, Sophie Eastlake, once again does a fabulous job with the delivery of the audiobook.
I was gifted this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Great read and listen..

This was a simpler story about Red Stone Security but it was a really good story about Ivan and Julieta. They were the perfect couple and, again, the hero just wanted to protect the woman he loved. Julieta’s stalker was seriously deranged and some of his texts to her were so sick and disgusting that you really loved to hate him.

There was some great sexual tension and some nicely written sexcapades near the end of the book. One of the reasons I like reading Ms. Reus’s book is because she writes such exciting stories and wonderful sexual tension throughout her books. She doesn’t just drop a sex scene in somewhere and call it good. There’s sexual attraction from the time they meet until the end of the book.

There was some swearing and the F-bomb was used 34 times. To me the F-bomb was always necessary just where it was used but I know a lot of you don’t mind reading about some guys head buried between some chick’s legs but you don’t want to hear ANY kind of swearing. Go figure. Anyway, you’ve been warned.

As to the narration: I just love Sophie Eastlake's narration. The men sound sexy and her emotions are terrific. Every book she narrates is better than the last.

I love this series; this is the 9th book in the Red Stone Security series. It can be listened/read as a standalone book. But once you listen it you will want to go get the other books in the series as well.

The narrator did a wonderful job, and was very easy to listen too. Every book that I have listened to by this narrator, I have enjoyed and this one was no different than the others. She did every characters voice different and was easy to tell which character was speaking.

I have to say this book is just as good if not better than the other books in this series.Julieta owns a lingerie shop, her best friend Lizzy works for Red Stone Security. Lizzy has been sending in all of her friends to shop at Julieta’s new shop. Julieta has started to get some explicit and threatening texts and then someone vandalizes her shop. Ivan is a former Army Ranger and also works for Red Stone Security, he has been attracted to Julieta since he first met her. When she gets the threatening texts he steps in and starts protecting her. He will do anything to protect her. This book has humor, mystery, suspense, strong willed females, and sexy alpha males. I can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out.

A Fantastic Add to the Series

This is my favorite addition to the Red Stone Security since the reading the first three. I simply adore the characters. Julieta Mederos has style and panache. I love the fact that she is a modern woman. A lingerie storeowner and self-made entrepreneur, she is smart, sassy, independent and feminine. AND she has STYLE – a halter-style red and white gingham retro dress with spiked pumps? Yes! Paired with a tight-lipped, brooding, Über alpha, with a protective streak a mile long, they are the perfect ying and yang.

Julieta is being stalked by a sexual predator who likes to send her disturbing text messages. At first she ignores them until they start escalating. And after many months of admiring her from afar, Ivan takes initiative to protect Julieta from this stalker.

This mystery is one of the best in the series. The story keeps the reader guessing. Furthermore, the author lets us get into the mind of the stalker, and he is creepy. For a full length novel on the shorter side, this is a tightly developed narrative.

IN A NUTSHELL:
A fantastic add to the Red Stone series, this one is not to be missed.

Narration: I'm biased. I think Sophie Eastlake is one of the best performers out there in the audio world. She makes the scenes come alive. A+
