About this listen

Emma is super pretty, super smart, and super rich. So WHY is she kidnapping the billionaire she just bought in the bachelor auction?

Thirteen years before Emma Dumas bought me in a bachelor auction to teach me a lesson, she stole my heart down on Key West. I fell so hard for this girl, I made all the promises. Only with Emma, I really meant them.

And then I disappeared.

But it wasn’t my fault. Let’s just call my reason “Family Business”. I’d tell you what that business is, but then I’d have to kill you. Just kidding. I can’t tell you what my family business is because it’s so secret, even I don’t know.

My point is...I didn’t ghost. It was a weird twist of circumstances. And OK, yes. I did hook up with pretty much every girl on the island that week. But after I met Emma, I was ruined. She’s the only one I wanted.

It’s been 13 years. I’m a changed man. I STILL want her. I have ALWAYS wanted her.

But it’s kind of hard to tell her that with a gag in my mouth and a hood over my head.

Jesse features a bachelor auction gone wrong, four smart ladies who botch a crazy revenge kidnapping, a fancy power dream date with fast cars, private jets, and expensive yachts, lots of ex-sex, and a happily ever after that proves...sometimes the best man for the job is a woman.

Includes a special bonus note from the author.

You will never go wrong with a JA Huss book! And while you could listen to the Bossy Brothers as a stand-alone- I recommend listening/reading in order. I’ve already read them several times - they are that good.

Billionaires, second chances, and then BAM there’s a entire new level of twisted plot. I loved Emma and Jesse’s story. Who doesn’t want a chance to get back at someone who’s hurt us? Just goes to show that our plans for revenge might lead to something completely unexpected.

JA Huss always nails it with the perfect narrators for each story and Teddy Hamilton and Ava Erickson are spot on perfection as Jesse and Emma. Terrific performance from both, bringing both the characters and story to life.

Thank you for having a great audiobook, I was losing faith that people could read with emotion on these and you have changed my mind along with your narrators I’m thanking them as well. Also I throughly enjoyed this book and bought the well free version as well and I’ll be looking at more books and reading pretty much all of them because the authors writing style is how my mind works… if that makes sense probably not. Anyway I’ve made a switch to less dark books but this one kinda hit all my marks on things I enjoy. But I wouldn’t classify this as dark at all but I don’t believe it’s supposed to be see now I’m off track sorry anyway this is a great book I would 100% recommend. And just want to say thank you to the author because I can listen to this while I drive to and from work and not be like omg have some damn emotion pleeeeaaasssseeeeee!!

Great imagination and a really nice story. I don’t care for sex scenes so I just skip over those. Looking forward to the next book in the series since the story line really was different and intriguing.

Great story

A funny book with some deep stuff but also kinda frilly (which is annoying) but all in all a decent read.

Fun book

When the female protagonist is Mary Kay I had instant cringe and couldn’t shake the image. I have a real loathing for people who take advantage of others…so that was my only hang-up.

It was good for what it was. It’s romance with a side of mystery and secret society. I will listen to Bossy Joey, which sadly is the last one that is free today…when 4 were free yesterday. It will need to be REALLY good to spend all my credits from summer to spring to keep me listening.

Only complaint is the pyramid scheme

Okay. I have to get the next book. Why? I NEED to figure out what the hell the Boston brothers are into. This is a standalone yes. But it's building the story for the other brother's books. Narrators did an AMAZING job. The story is about "revenge". But it backfires. Jesse is a guy that was young and dumb (like all of us at one point). A playboy. But as an adult, that's not him anymore. Emma is one of the girls from his past. She never got over him. Obsessed. I honestly... by the end I was rolling my eyes HARD at her. I think the 'I'm in control' mindset was supposed to portray her as strong. It legit comes off as her being a slight bitch and railroading Jesse. He lets her of course because he's 'in love' and 'shes the one who got away'. Emma was a self made rich girl. Humble beginnings. But you don't ever really see that. She comes off as a snob almost.

Either way. I'm running to the next book to get more of the story.
