About this listen

Gabriel Braven senses danger, but he's helpless to stop it.

Gabriel's inevitable transformation into a merman brings him both great joy and great sadness. Though he must soon leave his human family, he is eager to experience the beauty of Emralis, the Mer city, together with his water-dwelling lover, Casillus. As Gabriel's protective mental barriers finally begin to drop, he can grasp the true depths of his Mer prince's encompassing love.

But Gabriel is unusual, even for a Mer. As a rare Caller, his psychic gifts surprise even Casillus. Though they will enable him to speak mind to mind with Corey and Grandma G on land, they also draw him closer to Cthulhu, the alien entity whose presence means destruction and madness for the human race.

But Gabriel's time on land is running out. He has a feeling that nothing will stop his grandmother's lover, Professor Johnson Tims, from exposing the Mers' existence. And he is not at all sure he can hold Cthulhu back from protecting the ocean-dwelling race...and destroying the humans in the process, including Corey and Grandma G!

CTHULU

Deepening connections, admissions of omission, history revealed, major predications, and satisfying intimacy. This volume was good. Cannot wait for the finale but also don't want it to end.

Holy black Tentacle

This installment was intense and Chris Patton's narration as with all the others is so spot on its astounding. get the whole series, my only word of warning because I've read all the books is..be prepared because you won't want the story to ever end. good stories always leave you wanting more and this series leaves you wishing that a map to Emralis was included just so you can get diving equipment and find these characters to meet them.

If you've not checked out the new story on Raythereign.com you should totally check it out too..it's worth the subscription trust me..there are a tin of awesome stories to be found there. Enjoy :-)

Incredibly Imaginative, Chris Patton is Perfect

Continuing to love this audiobook series. Chris Patton's sweet and sensual voice is perfect for these characters.

The descriptions of Casillus' world are amazing and definitely welcome after the darkness of Caller. X. Aratare has an incredible imagination :)

Short, Sexy and Steamy... sex in the sea!

Would you listen to Undersea again? Why?

Oh hell yes, I plan on listening to the entire saga in order again, and again, and again! It's so intriguing, this world Aratare has created for Gabriel and Casillus.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Undersea?

When they finally made love, deep in the ocean, surrounded by so much beauty.

Have you listened to any of Chris Patton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listebed to this entire saga and I like the youth and energy he has in his voice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I don't know...

Any additional comments?

Gabriel Braven has finally come to terms with the fact that he is Mer, though he is still having trouble with the fact he will have to leave his best friend and his Grandmother behind on dry land to complete the transition. Having finally accepted his destiny he is also letting down his guard with Casillus and the bond between them is only growing stronger. Casillus takes Gabriel deeper into the water than they’ve ventured thus far and surprises him with a glimpse of their home and they finally, fully consummate their relationship. But there is a dark entity that attached itself to Gabriel long ago, an entity that can only be awoken by a Caller.

Each installment of this series just gets juicier with content and storyline. I especially enjoyed the conversation Gabriel had with Cthulhu, the dark alien like entity that is supposed to be a guardian of sorts for the Mer. And that ending, whoa! I’m very excited to see how everything comes together in the end. Gabriel has shown himself to be a different kind of Mer, of course he’s a Caller and he’s mated to the Mer Prince, Casillus, but it’s more than that. I think the link he has with Cthulhu when the creature saved him as a child is going to be what saves them in the end.

If you are looking for something short, sexy and steamy that is well written and narrated to get you through your day, you should consider the Merman saga. Start with book 1 though or you’ll have no idea what is going on.

Merge with the sea with no underwater fear

Conversion to Mer is a bit difficult, but more challenging for those who know you. Being a caller stretches the reach of your mind to others but also to your biggest fear for human safety. Many good things happen as the Mer world below opens up, but will the beast from the depths challenge Dr Johnson?

filler?

this book felt more like a filler episode then with any real substance... don't get me wrong the book was still relatively enjoyable the MC gets strong, (hopefully) plot relevant abilities that develop (alarmingly) fast
