About this listen

CrystalI was the strong one, they said, until two words brought me to my knees. It was a secret I didn't share with anyone, a secret that made me promise I'd never fall in love.

I no longer wanted that white picket fence of every woman's dreams. But then the unthinkable happened.

GabeI thought I had it all with the best medical practice in the state and the woman of my dreams. I wore a smile on my face every single day. I couldn't wait to watch her walk down the aisle and start our forever, except she never did. My runaway bride made me realize love isn't worth it.

What happens when your dreams unexpectedly come true?

Great book!

Great love story but the lady reading her part is a choppy reader that drives me nuts to listen to.

Good story

Conner Crais has such a nice voice. He is becoming a favorite. Caitlin Davies did ok but I times she sounds like Jennifer Coolidge. Which made me chuckle several times.
Story of Crystal & Gabe is sweet. They have that fighting passion, it’s cute. You don’t have to glee as the first book to understand what’s going on. I found it nice that events from first book go with events of this one. It added another level of depth to the story. But like I said you don’t have to read/listen to the first. Really enjoyed.

Gabe and Crystal

I really loved their story. They just had that instant spark and neither wanted to admit it could be something good. The only thing I didn't like was the repeating of events from the 1st book. I get why it was done but it made me want to skip some of it. I think if I hadn't read the 1st one it probably wouldn't of bothered me. Still, I do understand why we needed the back story and their points of view that led them to where they are. The narration for this book really kept me engaged. The female narrator was good but I would have liked to hear more differentiation of the characters when in her pov. I felt like her male character voice was much better than her female character voices. The male narrator was really good. He really improves with every book he does. His tone was good and did the female voice very well with a nice soft tone.

The fun couple of this series

The female narrator Caitlin Davies pauses with a raise in tone at the end of each sentence so the cadence is off unless she is a Swede speaking English. It takes a bit of getting used to since the rest of the family sounds home grown American. The medical aspect of Eric’s death is explained but not the detail of Crystal’s condition which adds mystery but a bit of confusion at the end. The strong personalities of Crystal and Gage provide entertainment throughout this series though so having their own story was a given. This pair could easily have had another couple epilogues! Even their conflicts move along at a good pace. Well with the credit!

Cute story

It's a cute story, but the female narrator sounds like Jennifer Coolidge. I did not enjoy listening to her.

So good!

The story between Crystall and Gabe is a great emotional break from the first book. It still ties the story of Hailey and Jensen but now has somewhat of a comedic relief with Crystall and Gabe's evolving relationship. I am for their love/hate interactions and the narration was great as well. Caitlin Davies did good and Connor Crais is amazing as always.

Holy moly

I was hoping there was gonna be a story with those two from the first book. This book did not disappoint me because these two I knew we’re going to be a great couple and this was going to be funny. What an amazing story and I got to be honest the narrators were phenomenal. Off to number three.

Touching and emotional story

I listened to the audiobook of Unexpected Love Story by Natasha Madison and totally enjoyed it. The narrators were amazing and I loved Gabe and Crystal's journey so much. We discovered things we did not know or see in the first book (this can be read as a standalone, but I loved the first one and highly recommend it) and loved that. They had some great banter, interactions and chemistry. These two were perfect together. Crystal broke my heart with so many dreams and then feeling like they were taken from her. Gabe was hurt and thought he could never truly love again. And yet, when they find each other, their is a connection they cannot deny. Loved it and so excited to jump into the next book.

Happy listening!
