Publisher's summary

Things are about to heat up.…

Brandi Vaughn wishes she could stand out. She’d do anything to get out from behind the shadow of her socialite family - which now includes Dani, her half sister, recently discovered to be the most powerful vampire known to their kind.

But Brandi is more extraordinary than anyone realizes. The fiery young vamp has a secret elemental power - an inner flame that she must keep under control so as not to reveal herself to the dangerous rogue vampire targeting exceptional talents like hers. But when two desperate followers of the Rogue attempt to kidnap Dani during her wedding ceremony, Brandi lets loose with a pyrotechnic display that doesn’t go unnoticed.…

As the vampire nation comes face-to-face with the threat of the Shade army, Brandi is caught in an emotional tug of war between the light and the dark. Torn between the affections of lovers from both factions, she will need to choose who to trust with her heart: a warrior or a rogue.

Convoluted

This book has lots of good reviews but it drove me nuts. The summary was so exciting but I got lost on who is the main character actually was with so many characters in the book. Chapters that flashes back and repeat the situation of what happened in the last chapter is just a pain since we already know what happened. To many stories going on within the story it made my head spin. It sounded like you had great ideas but they were all just shoved into one book and quickly told instead of connecting with the character in the book.

The men in the book are just stupid to the point of being unbelievable. Griffin in particular does something truly terrible to someone he is supposed to love. That happened early in the book and really put me off the story.

Another thing I didn't care for is the way all of the main females have multiple guys that are completely in love with them. Not just attracted, or interested, or even major lust, but "in love". It dilutes the emotion and makes the "true love" unbelievable.

Note to author: PLEASE tone down the "Lovely" it really became annoying! I started skipping over the storyline because you were using it in place of her name in every single thought Chase had of her. It is a nickname and should be used sparingly and not replace her actual name. She has two of them! Please use one of them instead.

Absolutely AMAZING

This is the second book of this series and it was a great listen. The narrator was nice to hear also. It is full of suspense, family drama, tears and yummy steamy scenes. I cannot wait for the third book.

VAMPIRE DRAMA, ACTION & ROMANCE AT IT'S VERY BEST

Well I thought book 1 was good but this.... this was non stop paranormal action that had me on the edge of my seat as the well-written descriptive plot, with many sub plots, eased new characters into the already packed cast of well known characters from the previous story. Then Cat Miller spiced things up, added twists after mindblowingly twists, stirred the action around and took the base storyline of the Shades and the Master to a whole new frightening level as the war for world domination looms.

As Brandi is drawn into an emotional love triangle between a good man v a bad boy her powers become more intense with destructive consequences. But there's just so much packed into these books including scenes that'll surprise, shock, devastated and have you just plain speechless. Lots of "Wows", "What!!", "No Way" and a few "Ahhh's" too. There's not just one romantic love story but other budding romances too along with the ending of others. Traitors in the Vampire Council make it very difficult for the Prophecy to come true.

Worth a credit? Oh it would have easily been worth a credit but at $7.34 (what a bargain) for over 12 hours of paranormal perfection I saved my credit for a more costly (but maybe not as enjoyable) listen. I loved the characters, the storyline and the beautiful tender romance but it's not really a stand-alone book and anyway why deprive yourselves.... listen from the start and become immersed in this fractured Vampire/Human Nation.

Book two did not disappoint

If you enjoyed the first book of the Forbidden Bond Series than you will love book 2. From the start it is a non-stop thrill-ride of action, adventure and mystery. My heart was racing after the first few chapters! Although I expected this book to continue the story of Dani and Chase, it focused instead on Dani's half sister Brandi. Wow did I really enjoy her story. The author did include characters from the first book but it was nice to get Brandi's story and for the author to introduce some delicious new characters (Greyson, Derek). I'm looking forward to the next book and I hope it focuses on Griffin.

Better than the first.

If you have an account with Audible, anything under 9 bucks, you should buy it and save a credit. At the moment, this is one of those buys.

If you made it through the first book, you'll like this one better. Yes, the leading lady still has a thing for multiple guys - I have no idea why, but hey, it's different, I guess. If it weren't so obvious who they plan to end up with I wouldn't mind, but it's less annoying in this book.

This book actually digs deeper into the created world and I like that we get to see more of the characters. It almost gets too complicated but it's easy to follow.

My only frustration, and it's the good kind, is that one character keeps getting pummeled with drama that's just not fair and makes you wanna slap a guy. In fact, the guy in question is in need of so many slaps, for being a coward, a jerk, and blind to some obvious hints at wrong doing, that he got on my last nerve. I'm still waiting for him to grow a pair.

Boy I'm fired up about this book! Better get it. :)
