About this listen

Cat shifter Bree Dwyer doesn't fear much. Ironically, what she fears most is the person who was put on the Earth just for her. Your true mate wasn't supposed to be cruel and twisted; wasn't supposed to be someone who'd never love or want to claim you. The rumors that her true mate is dead bring her only relief. Bree's intent on moving forward with her life and building a future with someone else. Sadly, the male she wants most is one she can never have - a hot-as-sin wolverine shifter who happens to be her boss...and the cousin of her predestined mate.

Aleksandr "Alex" Devereaux detests being bullshitted, but he's been lying to himself for years - pretending he thinks of Bree as extended family; that he doesn't want her so bad he aches with it; that he can't feel himself weakening against her pull. The night they spend together changes everything. He's done fighting himself on what he wants. Someone isn't happy about that. Possibly the same "someone" who's playing mind games with Bree, trying to scare her. They're succeeding, because too many leads point to the possibility that the culprit could be the one person that she's determined to believe is dead.

Contains mature themes.

I have always enjoyed Suzanne Wright’s series and have listened to all of the Phoenix Pack and Mercury Pack books. I was intrigued when I saw this listing and purchased with an Audible credit. Bottom line, buy the book and save your credit. The character’s voices were practically indistinguishable from one another. Almost gave up on more than one occasion but sloughed through to the end hoping it would get better. It didn’t. Unlike the other series that I have listened to more than once, I will not be repeating the experience again with this narrator. Please re-think using this narrator in the Olympus Pride series.

Narration atrocious

I think i would liked it better with another person reading it... she is great with female voices but man the male voice was idk not good in the emotions and sounded winy in the hot areas... I must be to spoiled by Nicole Poole in the other series....

just not as good as the series

This book is great. I can’t wait for more. The performance was nice and you can tell who she is speaking for. I really love this series and I can’t wait for more.

Awesome

If you know Susanne Wright, this is a story you might come to expect of her. If you’re unfamiliar with her writing and want to explore paranormal romance, this is what you need to know:

🐾 strong Alpha male (usually grumpy and emotionally stunted)
🐾 badass and bold female lead - strong and independent
🐾 omniscient POV
🐾 crazy fantasy world but also very worldly (makes you view your neighbors in a whole different way 🤣)
🐾 suspense, violence, and some gory details

While Samantha Cook won’t be in my list of favorite narrators, she does a good job.

I liked it 🐾

I’ve passed this book over for about a year thinking it was something I wouldn’t enjoy, boy was I wrong, I loved everything about this story, I definitely recommend it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this…

I loved every minute of this. That’s all that’s it. Read it. Shifters, packs and cats.

Loved it.

Not sure why Jill Redfield is not the narrator for this book but she needs to be. This narrator was not that good. It was hard getting past chapter 1 because her voice for the MAIN male character was so bad. I much rather have bought the book and read it quietly. I hope Jill gets hired back on.

I don’t understand why the need to change the narrators because it’s a different. Jill was able to do accents, make male characters sound like men. This one doesn’t. And I really think this choice of getting rid of Jill will hurt the selling of the audio books because the performance is not good.

Bring back Jill Redfield

The story is great. Sucks you right in for a great ride! I love the characters, and the crossover from the previous series. Narrator does a great job, but as everyone was used to Jill Redfield, it feels different. Not bad, just different. I love the push and pull of Bree and Alex. Suzanne's shifter series flow so well, and the stories just keep you so interested. Totally made me buy a book from a slightly different genre to see if she writes the others so well.

I absolutely adore these books.

I'm a fan of all of Suzanne Wright's books and this one did not disappoint. It is well written with well developed characters. My one disappointment is the new readers mimic of the male characters voices is weak. I guess I'll have to learn to tolerate it, but I miss Jill Redfield reading. But despite this, the story is worth a listen.

Great Read!
