Good listen!

The narration is fantastic! I think I would listen to Troy Duran read the phone book though! 😁 I liked the book well enough. It’s really tame. One open door steamy scene. This is really a book about two people who have suffered the loss of their partner while they find love again. I found the first 2/3 of the book very sad because of this. The suspense part is not that suspenseful imo bc they were really just wondering for the most part. It wasn’t until nearly the end that the “wondering what happened” was actually addressed. Otherwise there was no real conflict between the characters, they were just supporting each other during their healing.

Banks, Lamise, and baby Reese

Banks, a widower with a six month old son needs a nanny and Lamise, whose fiance was killed by a snakebite, needs a job. She meets Banks at Harper Security Ops after applying for a job there. Both are in deep mourning and sadness, but taking care of Reese, Bank's son, helps both of them heal. As they fight their attraction for each other along with feeling guilty, they find they understand each other's emotions in ways others would not. Until Lamise sees her missing dog and Banks goes on the hunt to find him for her. Beautifully written and the narrators were perfect for the characters. Troy Duran always rocks as a narrator.

Emotional rollercoaster, AMAZING narrators!

Banks, a single dad, finds himself in need of a nanny for his baby boy after losing his wife in a tragic, heartbreaking way. Lamise is suffering from her own heartbreaking, very unexpected loss and needs a job. Harper Security isn't hiring, but Banks thinks Lamise would be the perfect person for his nanny needs.

Lamise has the most caring, sweet personality and is the perfect person for the nanny job. The way she loves and cares for Banks son is the most heartwarming thing. This book will shatter your heart from the very first page and leave you bawling for a good portion of the story, but puts all the pieces back together in such a precious way. The way these two are there for each other through their heartbreak and healing is incredible. It would truly take someone who has been in a similar situation to truly grasp the things you need to heal and move forward. Friendship turns into love and eventually the perfect family.

This is a book that will stay deeply rooted in my heart for a long time to come. I listened to this in audio form and these two narrators are the perfect duo for Lamise and Banks' story. Absolute Perfection!

Barnes and Duran bring the emotion in this one!

A.K. Evans’s “Unharmed,” the latest in the Harper Security Ops romance series, was so friggin’ touching. I knew that widower and HSO employee Banks Huntington’s story was going to be special, but I wasn't prepared for the emotion it evoked. Lamise Kelly has had her own tragic past, and Evans gave us a couple that we couldn’t help but cheer for. So sweet, steamy, and heartachingly special. Truly. Add in an adorable baby boy, and you have such an amazing tale. The characters are brought to life in wonderful, emotionally raw audio performances by narrators Troy Duran (one of my all-time faves) and Addison Barnes, and this may very well be my favorite performance by the talented Ms. Barnes. Doesn’t get much better than this. This is why I adore Ms. Evans's work and why I'm absolutely hooked on audiobooks.

Lamise and Banks #Swoon #Romance #ForbiddenNanny

Unharmed (Harper Security Ops Book 13) by A. K. Evans is a romantic suspense where the shockers just keep coming.
Unharmed is also an audiobook narrated by Addison Barnes and Troy Duran, whose sultry voices give life to the story. It is narrated with spot-on emotion and the spice when appropriate. I love the audiobook that could convey the richness of an old-time radio broadcast of a drama only with earbuds versus the ornate old radio of times long past.
Police officers informed Lamisse that her fiancée Graham had been found dead by a venomous snakebite while out jogging in the local park. Additionally, the officers had no idea whereabouts of the couple’s missing dog, Henry. Six months later, still reeling from grief, Lamise found a shocking video on Graham’s cell phone that shook her to her core and brought up the horrifying idea that maybe Graham’s death wasn’t an accident, as well as she might be in danger. Lamise, needing to find a job, decided to go to Harper Security Opps to apply for any secretarial job. While there, she learned that no jobs were available then, but before she reached her car to leave, single dad Banks (who was in the office when she turned in her resume) offered her a nanny position for his infant son Ryes. As Lamise finds herself caring for baby Ryes, she discovers a new purpose and a growing ability to move on in her grief. Banks has his demons that haunt him about his deceased wife and mother of Reys. Banks and Lamise bond over loving baby Reys as they release their masks and get to know each other. Once Lamise’s secret about her former fiancée is out, Banks is determined to find answers and protect Lamise. Solving the mystery and falling in love is quite the story that needs to be read. A. K. Evans is a master at spinning the suspense with a slow-burn romance that always has a HEA.

New love

Banks Huntington never expected to be a widowed single father at his age. While his mother has been helping him care for his son, he needs a nanny for the long term. Lamise Kelly applies for a job at Harper Security Ops, but they aren't hiring. The more Banks thinks about Lamise's personality and demeanor, the more he feels she is the perfect one for the job. As the two get to know one another, they open up about their pasts and their deceased loves. You can't really know the depth of tragic loss unless you've experienced it yourself. That was the connection Lamise and Banks had that solified their relationship as they leaned on each other for support and new found love. Addison Barnes and Troy Duran did an amazing job narrating this story. They brought the characters and their story to life and made everything feel so realistic and relatable.

I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

It doesn't get any better than Lamise & Banks!

Lamise and Banks have taken over as my new favorite couple in the Harper Security Ops world. They both separately suffered unimaginable tragedies and thought they'd never find love again, but they found love and so much more in each other. I was so invested in their story from the very beginning. Lamise is reeling from suddenly losing her fiancé and Banks is trying to figure out being a single dad after losing his wife. When Lamise tries to find employment at Harper Security Ops, her chance encounter with Banks changes both of their lives forever. Unharmed was full of sorrow, heartbreak, healing, and love and the way these two had such a genuine friendship before all else was absolutely beautiful. Addison Barnes and Troy Duran couldn't have been more perfect as Lamise & Banks. They made me feel the emotions of this couple so much more through their words. Unharmed is a perfect example of how an audiobook hits different in such a great way.
A.K. Evans sure knows how to deliver a powerful romantic suspense and knows how to keep us coming back for more.
And the preview of Caution at the end....already has me anxiously awaiting its release!

A wonderful addition to the series

This audiobook belongs to Harper Security Ops operative Banks Huntington and Lamise Kelly.
Banks’s wife’s passing leaves him not only heartbroken but also a single dad to a small child. He’s barely surviving this new life until in comes to the office Lamise Kelly.
Lamise too has a sad background and in need of safety, she hopes Harper Security Ops has an opening for a job. There are no jobs, but it could also be a good thing.
Banks needs a nanny and Lamise needs security. This could be the perfect solution for both. But what happens when feelings develop not only between these two, but with the little family they are making?
What happens when Lamise’s past comes to her present life? Will she survive that past to create a new future with Banks?
The plot was engaging with characters you’ll come to love. It’s a story that at times is heartbreaking but also heartwarming.
A reminder that second chances in life and love do happen.
Last but not least, Addison Barnes and Troy Duran do a great job with the narrations. Bringing the story to life.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
