About this listen

The worst has happened. Texas has fallen. It's up to Ava to get it back.

Without the support of the Lone Star State, the Alliance has no hope against the powerful and corrupt regime which has hijacked the majority of the United States.

Still mourning her loss, Ava has seen more death and destruction than she ever bargained for. She's finished with fighting, but she may hold the key to America's survival.

An unexpected visitor implores her to take on one last impossible task. If she turns down the request, it could spell the end of freedom and the Alliance, but if she accepts the challenge, victory is by no means guaranteed.

Ava has endured as much heartache as she can handle, but if America dies, if the Alliance fails, things will only get worse. She has to make a choice, and she must act before the clock runs out.

As with all books by Mark Goodwin, this book contains no profanity and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you're offended by conservative principles and references to Scripture, this book might not be for you.

LOVED IT!

This series is absolutely fantastic! I couldn't stop listening! The story is very fast-paced and interesting and Ava is a wonderful character who grows a lot during he course of the story. Mark Goodwin is a phenomenal author with strong Christian themes throughout his books, which I love. This is a series I will have to listen to again.

These stories are engaging and entertaining.

It is not much of a stretch to see something just like this play out in America today.

A great final book

I've loved this series and this is a great final book! This series has been odd for me, while I agree with Ava on some important things I also disagree on some important things. The two sides in these books are polar opposites, one at each extreme, in real life I wouldn't want either to win. It made for a very exciting book with people so passionate about their side being the one in the right.

If you've read the first two books then you do not want to miss this ending, and if you haven't, then these books need to be read in order.

There is a lot of religion - Christianity in particular - in these books, Ava's faith is very strong and religion is one of the key issues in the war. As someone who's not religious this concerned me before listening to book one, having finished the series I think that the religious content was done well and in ways that enhanced the story.

The character voices are fantastic and the tone and pace of the delivery have been consistent through all three books. I've loved listening to the story.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

good series

Good series, let's hope this never happens in real life, but we all know deep down, that this is a real possibility.

Slap the spit out of your heroine!

Mark Goodwin, I enjoy your novels, your humor, and your faith based story telling! Usually!!! This Ava needs a spanking of the GROW UP AND BEHAVE type! She drove me completely crazy!!! I had to find out how this saga ended. Another good series.

A great conclusion to a fine series

Mr Goodwin is one of my favorite Christian/ dystopian authors. This has been my favorite series he has done to date. The heroine is a mid 20s dental hygienist that is just going through life. She has a lost a lot in her life and has deep rooted trust and relationship issues. The the world as she knows it changes. This is all covered in books 1-2.

The third book is the conclusion of the Alt Left vs the Alt right and how it’s tearing the nation apart. What will happen to the group of guerrilla fighters ? What will happen to the nation ? Where is God in the picture ?

Well listen to the 3book series and found out ; it’s a great series

Wake up call

It was great to read an exciting book with none of the smut. It also made me think about my roll as a citizen of the US. I finished all three books in about a week.

last book not as well written as previous two

seemed to be rushing to the conclusion right at the end. also main character, who has been through a lot, by this point be beyond hesitation when confronting her ex-friend who has killed so many of her friends and loves ones. could have been better.
