About this listen

Of all the bars in all the towns in all the world, the stranger walks into Brody Tyler's. With no memory and a name he chose from a newspaper, Nash is a gamble - one Brody is willing to take. It isn't long before Brody and Nash fall in love, but then a tragic accident shatters their cozy world, resetting Nash's memory once again.

The new Nash Walker is a businessman with a bottom line, and he doesn't care what or who gets stomped on. Waking up in a hospital bed after a hit-and-run with no idea where he's been for the past six months is bad enough, but someone trying to kill him is even worse. Enter Brody Tyler, accidental bodyguard.

Brody's determined to help Nash remember and bring back the man he loves. Nash thinks Brody's a drop-dead gorgeous pain in the ass. If only he could remember....

Entertaining if nothing else

So… that happened!

I’m a bit – overwhelmed by this. It was a bit like being in the middle of three books all at the same time. Luckily – they all come together at the end but – wow- there was some serious whiplash for awhile.

I have to say, that the first thing someone should know about this – it’s fiction. First and foremost. It is entirely implausible and improbable and unrealistic times one hundred.

So… if you put on your “suspension of disbelief” hat and just go with it – well – it’s kind of fun! It’s like seeing the lady on the soap opera – Marlena I think is her name? – with amnesia, being possessed by a demon on a tropical island with her imposter husband who is her real husband pretending to be someone else…

In any case. The first third (approximately) of the book is the love story of Good Nash falling in love with Brody. The second third is Bad Nash being a dick to Brody and Brody still managing to find something worthy of love in him. Then the final third is Good Nash returning to his senses and everything coming together.

Phew.

It was quite a ride!

The physical times are pretty hot – even with Bad Nash and the feels are pretty sweet – especially the groveling.

So, while I was sort of rolling my eyes a lot – I did enjoy this as a piece of entertainment and can recommend it thusly.

Audio

Sean Lenhart is a relatively new to me narrator. He does a fairly nice job – I had to speed his voice up to 1.5x because he tends to really draw things out but at that speed it was pretty nice. I enjoyed the fact that he attempted to give everyone unique voices and Southern accents – that’s always a nice touch. However… his version of Nash did not sound like a smaller, white guy. It didn’t. So I was surprised when the physical description said that Brody was the bigger guy and that Nash was a smaller, slim guy. His accent also sometimes bled into a New York accent – it wasn’t perfect.

But… it was enthusiastic! And he does a lot to infuse emotion into his narrations and I think it did add to the overall experience of this story.

So, for the audio and the story I’d give this 3.5 of 5 stars. It was definitely entertaining, if nothing else.

Gripping story

What did you love best about Unshakeable Faith?

I loved the characters, and Sean Lenhart's narration gave them more personality and the Sex scenes...let's just say you don't want to listen to them in public( Sean make it hot)

What was one of the most memorable moments of Unshakeable Faith?

The sex scene when Nash and Brodie finally have sex then Nash finds the photograph.

Which character – as performed by Sean Lenhart – was your favorite?

Nash. I liked how he brought out the two sides of Nash. Though Hannah was fun too.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There was a couple.
When Brodie was looking for Nash that was pretty sad and when he found him and Nash was such a different man was heartbreaking. The ending was quite moving as well.

Any additional comments?

Unshakeable Faith is a fabulous second chance romance. The characters are well developed and interesting.
The story line is intriguing. I love the amnesia type stories, especially when the character with it is so different.
If you are looking for a great story, intriguing characters, and some hot man-sex, you will like this. I highly recommend the audio. It is a good way to make chores more enjoyable!
