About this listen

The doctor can heal me, but can he keep me safe?

My brother has been embezzling from his employers. Unfortunately, when I accidentally discover that information, I end up hurled straight into the Potomac. If it weren’t for Dr. Derek Carlisle, I’d be fish food.

When he offers more than medical help, I bolt. It’s not his job to protect me, even if the older man is everything I’ve ever wanted.

The young man needs a protector.

From the moment I see him, I know Seb is more than a patient. I’ve never been tempted to cross the patient/doctor line before. For him? I’ll do it in a heartbeat.

His brother wants to hurt him, and he needs someone to keep him safe. Me. Except, I can’t keep my hands off of him. Is a man as inexperienced as Seb ready for something more than a few nights of fun? I need to find out before keeping him safe breaks my heart.

Touch and Go features heroes with an age gap, danger lurking all around, and a healthy dose of hurt/comfort. The brothers of Vanguard Towers are at the front lines of love, and Derek is only the first to fall.

Fine for most

I liked the concept of this story, but wasn’t as happy with the execution of it. While I’m sure many will enjoy this, there were elements that just didn’t strike the right note with me and ended up souring the experience for me. The largest culprits were the harping on age difference (33 to 22), the total lack of meaningful communication between Seb and Derek for most of the story, and them jumping to the wrong conclusions. The narrator did a decent enough job, though at times he seemed a little clinical and made it difficult to follow exactly which character was speaking.

Good series starter

This is a good start to a series surrounding a found family of brothers who have bonded through taking care of each other. They live together in one building and all have first responder type jobs except one. It's a good book but I found the narration a little lacking. I did enjoy it but I found the tone and lack of inflection a little off-putting. I got used to it but it turned me off the audio a little. Again, not bad I am just spoiled on audio book performers.

What a start

Well this series looks like it’s going to be one enjoyable series. This book has started off a great new series that’s going to take a lot of work to complete at such a high standard, but I have complete faith in Aiden Bates.
Derek is the first of the bothers to find that someone special but he almost losses it. And Seb that someone special and let’s just say what brings him onto Derek’s path isn’t so pleasant. Loved this book and looking forward to listening to more from this series

A sweet hurt /comfort, opposites attract, age gap romance!

This was a sweet hurt /comfort, opposites attract, age gap romance.

I loved Derek and Sebastian's story.
This book was a great start to an amazing series.

The characters were likeable and entertaining and the storyline held my interest.

The narration was decent. I felt it a tad difficult to navigate between the characters and their voices as it all seemed the same to me. But it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Exciting MM Age-gap Romance

Well this was an exciting and intriguing read. I absolutely adored the made family aspect with Derek and his brothers. And I loved how fiercely Seb protected that. So, you have Seb, a hacker who recently go his computer science degree and has had a string of bad luck that has landed him in the care of Dr. Dish, 😏 Derek. Derek is extremely protective in nature and immediately latches onto Seb in the same manner. He is also drawn to the young man in a sexual way, but does not want to act on it. Then Seb lands himself in some more bad situations and Derek and his brothers are always there to help. The story did not drag and it made sense when the investigator break occurred. Both MCs needed to grow and learn to truly love each other. Joseph Thorson did wonderful narrating and as a new to me narrator I just found another to look out for. I was missing an epilogue, hence the 4 stars, but I was happy to see there are some bonus chapters available!!

Touch and No

Touch and no... wow this was boring. I usually like a good doctor/patient love story. But the doctor and his brothers rags to riches story line was way unbelievable. A doctor, lawyer, firefighter, artist and FBI agent? The patient happens to be an expert computer white hat hacker that will fit right in after the shirt bursts of drama and self loathing. This is a series I won't continue.

Sexy protective doctor

Seb shows up at the ER with an injury and Dr Derek Carlisle is there to patch him up. But Derek feels like there is something bad going on. And he feels like he needs to protect him. Seb only has his brother. And he's not always nice to Seb. But when Seb finds out his brother has been stealing money from his clients things go from bad to dangerous. Once again Seb ends up in the ER with Derek saving his life. With nowhere to go, Seb ends up staying with Derek. This is when things got a Little confusing for me because Derek has 7 (I believe) brothers and they all live together. It was just a lot of side characters and at times I was a little confused. And of coarse danger comes looking for Seb. Derek tries to fight his attraction to Seb but ends up giving into it. Overall I enjoyed the audiobbok. It was my first Joseph Thorson audiobook and he did a good job.

Seb and Derek

Touch And Go is book 1 of the Vanguard Towers series. This is an intense story about Sebastian, who's had a rough time in his young life, and Derek, a doctor who meets Sebastian when he comes to the hospital with a sprained wrist. When Seb ends up at the hospital again, this time needing to be resuscitated, Derek gets involved to take care of the young man and figure out what's going on. Derek and his brothers made Vanguard Towers their home and a somewhat safe haven. I love how Derek's brothers gather around Seb and help care for him too. I really enjoyed Seb and Derek's story and look forward to more of this series.
Narrator Joseph Thorson does a marvelous job. He really added to the story more than when I first read it.
