About this listen
Winning had never been the plan. I just wanted to go home. I still do. Now, I'm in too deep. With my conversion only days away, the count down has begun. When it hits zero, I lose. My only hope is to rely on the one who brought me here in the first place. A few unlikely friends might make all the difference between the Fold winning and a revolution. If I can stay alive that long.

Story
The Hunger Games meets Cinderella. This fairy tale has no happy endings - only dark beginnings. They call them the Crimson Fold. High up in their castle they look down on my little world and wield a silent control. That is, until the invitations are sent out. I never dreamed I'd be selected. They tell me it's a privilege. I should be honored. But the fear in their eyes doesn't lie. If I refuse to go, my family will be shunned. If I go, my life and my body will no longer be mine. It'll be theirs. At midnight it will be over. At midnight, I'll be his.

It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the 10th annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: Become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Story
A group of close friends gathers at a secluded cabin in the wintry mountains of Colorado for a final holiday hurrah. Instead, it may be their last stand. First a massive blizzard leaves them marooned. Then the more chilling realization: Something is lurking in the woods, watching them, waiting.... Now a weekend of family, friends, and fun has turned into a test of love and loyalty in the face of inhuman horrors. The only hope for those huddled inside is to fight - tooth and nail, bullet and blade - for their lives. Otherwise, they’ll end up like the monsters’ other victims: bright pools of blood on glittering snow, screams lost in the vast mountains.

An arranged marriage isn’t the worst fate for a princess like me. Especially because I’ve been in love with my intended groom since we were children. But when my prince shows up with an American girlfriend instead of an engagement ring, all arrangements are off. The clock is nearing midnight; I won’t turn into a pumpkin, but if I’m not wed by summer’s end, I’ll forfeit my kingdom. Just your typical royal dilemma. Out of sheer desperation, I make a deal with a devilish duke. Rafe de Silva is the prince’s rival and has a plan so ridiculous it just might work.

Great series!
This series is a great new spin a dystopian PNR Cinderella story. I love the characters- well... I hate some of the characters but only because they are pure evil! The plot line is unique. I like that what once started as a Cinderella story has morphed into something much much more and nothing like you would have expected. I was riveted and can't wait for the next installment.
Narration is a dream! Melissa lends such soul to the characters she narrates for. She brings them to life and gives them voice- and what a voice it is! Absolutely a pleasure to listen to.

Great book!
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I thought this was a great follow up to book 1 of this series. It picks up right where book 1 leaves off (which is nice). In fact, I thought this book was even better than the first book. I think the author and narrator really find their groove in this book. I find I'm looking forward to the next book being released on Audible. Well done!

A bit disappointed with the follow up
This is the second book in Bedfords Crimson Fold series. It picks up right at the end of the last book. In this installment, Bedford incorporates a horrible love triangle between the main character Clara, ruler Patrick and male friend Marcia. It was completely unnecessary and made Clara and Marcia look like imbeciles. Marcia, has now become my least favorite character, which is saying something.
One good thing, is we are given a history of why the fold is the way it is and why they continue on their current path. I will be waiting for the next book, and hope it redeems this one.

This series just keeps getting better!
This is an excellent series of books. It is highly entertaining and enjoyable without the author relying on vulgarity sexual conduct or offensive language. I highly recommend this novel as well as The entire series to anyone young or old who enjoys a good book.

A Great Sequel To The First Book in The Sequel
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I'm truly enjoying this series in which vampires are perceived as semi-human. Clarabella is a very likable character with her stubborn and relentless pursue of the absorbing quest to free her people from the manipulations of the vampires' society and the unequal and unfair treatment they are receiving.
I'm also very taken with some of the "vampires", especially Asher, and their minions that show so much more compassion than you'd expect to find in them. To me, Patrick seems vastly misunderstood by Clarabella. I feel the love she has for her is truly genuine and he is trying to make things right in his own way and to the best of his abilities. This is one of those moments in which Clara should show a little more maturity and give him the chance to prove himself to her.
The ending was a little disappointing. I was expecting something more dramatic to tell you the truth, but I guess we'll have to listen to the third book in the series to know how the story will develop. I'm guessing Erin Bedford has a plan...
The narration was truly well done and the different characters were portrayed splendidly by Melissa Moran.
A captivating fantastical series reminiscent of a fairytale.

A very enjoyable read.
My fifth read/listen from author Erin Bedford. Another wonderfully crafted captivating read, the second in The Crimson Fold series, purported to be a re-written fairy tale, but I didn’t see it, whose storyline continued to reveal & evolve throughout the length of the book with a cliff-hanger ending that leaves no doubt that there'll be another in the series. The voice inflections of the narrator were such that I can’t imagine just reading it.

Great Reveal of The Fold
Clara winning and getting swept into becoming one of the newest converts for The Fold brings a whole new level of excitement to this story. I've loved following this world and getting to learn all of its secrets. I hope in Until Sunset we get more of the inner workings of The Fold and we can get to see more into the mystery of the great evil. I loved Melissa's narration and the sense of foreboding that her voice added to the story.

Make sure to read Book 1 first!
Until Dawn, Book 2 of The Crimson Fold series by Erin Bedford starts up right where Book 1, Until Midnight leaves us. I would definitely recommend reading the series from start to finish so you know what's going on in the latter books in the series. I really am enjoying the Crimson Fold series and can't wait to listen to the next one. It's almost part Hunger Games and part...I don't know, but it's really good! If you haven't listened to Book 1, I don't want to give any spoilers away. Regardless, if you're looking for a fun, easy listen, I'd definitely recommend this series. My only wish is that the books were longer because I never want them to end!
As you can read for the description, Clara and her friend Marsha (a boy) are invited to a Crimson Fold party in Book 1. Well, Book 2 takes off right where Book 1 leaves the reader and the party wasn't quite as it seemed. Clara's trying to keep control while at the same time getting to know Patrick, her betrothed, a bit better. There's a whole bunch of other stuff, but like I said, I don't wait to spoil anything!!
Melissa Moran does a fabulous job voicing Clara and the other characters. She was a perfect fit to narrate this story and it really adds to the reader being taken away to another land while listening. I'll always be happy to listen to books narrated by her! I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Until Dawn
“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”
Book 2! We pick up right where we left off in Book 1 - what a smooth transition! Koodoos! Hard to say too much without giving away spoilers. If I didn't have teenagers at home Clarabelle's wishy washy ways would have me wanting to pull my hair out & all though it annoys the hell out of me I understand how a teenager works (I think) but I do think she needs to wise up a little more if she plans on succeeding. Typical teenager, not wanting to admit that anything is your fault, even though it definitely is! lol
I cannot wait to read/listen to Book 3!
