About this listen

Detective Mark Knight has a serious problem - one that comes in the form of Auckland Med’s brand-new forensic pathologist. Six feet of delicious blond-haired, scary smart, stern, and disapproving hotness - Dr. Edward R. Newton.

The man is miles out of Mark’s league - completely opposite in almost every way and shockingly immune to Mark’s flirtations. Mark should just let him go. But the alluring doctor has taken residence in Mark’s brain and is messing with his life’s plan - in particular Mark’s determination to skirt attachments and all the self-absorbed drama that goes with them.

Mark has spent two years watching his friends drop like flies to the white picket virus, only to suddenly find himself hankering for a hammer and some white paint. Edward, however, doesn’t want a bar of Mark’s roguish charm.

But it’s not like Mark can avoid the sexy pathologist - death brings them together on a regular basis. So, when a string of murders threatens both their lives and sends them into hiding, something has to give.

Least favorite in the series so far.

Had a harder time following all the names involved in the mystery plot, and just didn’t feel much interest in Mark as we didn’t hear much about his story or background for so long and I didn’t like how he kept referring to Ed as judgmental. Seems like he did not respect Ed’s needs and kept going after what HE wanted while claiming Ed was the judgmental one. Not okay.

The dog killed me lol

I loved this book! I don't think guys actually do this much talking about their relationship, but it's fiction, so it's all good. I skipped book 1, so im going back to it, but 2 and 3 are great. I love, love, love Gary Furlong!!! All the hearts to him 😍🥰😘!!! But, ugh!!, the descriptions of doggy drool really made me gag 🤢🤣!

Tooo much inner dialog and introspection

Listen, I completely appreciate the character development and the writing. It's good ! But omg 2/3 into the book and it's only 24 hours later because everything that happens is followed by paragraphs of one or both of the characters reviewing. And cataloguing every emotion and thought and word they had AND the other person had ... and then they have to talk about it . Jesus . I skipped a whole chapters and didn't even miss anything because the next chapter inevitably reviews the previous .

Narrator was great, story is interesting . Didn't hate it.
