About this listen

Sean is a normal guy. Has a great job as a photographer. Drives a new car, but not overly flashy. Has his small group of friends. Yeah he's just your run of the mill average Joe. Except, is anyone really all that normal? The secrets Sean harbors run deep. Stemmed from agony deep inside and a thirst for vengeance.

Melody is perceived as the beautiful spoiled princess that fell for a beautiful, confident stranger many years ago. Two polar opposites. One night that changed everything without either of them knowing it. Can love conquer all? With the help from a mysterious stranger, Adele. Who you may all know from a certain Cocky character's life. Unlucky in love herself. Anything is possible.

This book is in conjunction with the Cocky Hero Book Club with Adele and maybe some of your other favorite Cocky characters guiding these characters through their journey.

Good

Listen the story was good but one sex scene just one? Where’s the heat?!? Jakobi is a hot narrator. Most of his is extremely sexy this was just meh. He wasn’t meh but the heat was🤷🏻‍♀️
I enjoyed the story and the accent was great by two narrators.

I have come to expect decent sex scenes in hero club books.... this book was a cute love story with the most graphic part being the language

This one was a no for me.

Heroine was too much of a doormat at the end. The hero did not show he would be much different than before. He never even tried. She did all the work. It felt so one sided it made me nauseous. That ending was so unbelievable. She will be doing the work for the rest of their relationship if she let's it end that way. I wanted to tell her to run away and find someone who could prove she was appreciated. He was not my cup of tea for a good hero. Cocky and full of himself, yes, but not a hero. He was strongest standing up for his friend more than anything with her. I thought he should have stuck with his one night stands. I am moving on to the next book and praying for the improvement of what this book thought was good catch. I wouldn't want to be his Heroine. I am pleased with the narrators performance. I have never listened to Jakobi Diem before and he really grew on me. I am more than willing to listen to him and CJ Bloom in many books in the future.

Worth the wait.

Being able to see Nicole Dyke’s characters come to life was absolutely incredible! The narrators were off the charts with this one!

This is the only cocky hero world book I’ve read & I absolutely loved it, she did an excellent job putting her story into their world & I adored this story. Although I wish it were longer I still loved it!

Must listen!!

Jakobi + CJ’s performance 👌🏽

The characters in this book are so damaged, the reader almost writes them off as lost causes before the story gets going good. If Jakobi has not been leading me down the proverbial bread crumb trail with his voice in the early chapters, I might have done just that. His skill at delivering a range of human emotions inside of a few words is nothing less than stunning here; and quite frankly, needed, because the hero/ine were all over the place. This was my first introduction to CJ Bloom, and I have to say, she did a solid job as Melody. On its face, her character is naive and needy, but Bloom provides a texture with her delivery that I don’t think existed purely in the words.

How many chances?

We aren’t always the smartest as teens and some boys just aren’t mature enough to realize a good thing tills it’s gone. This is a sweet story of a boy full of anger who keeps making all the wrong choices in love. A story of overcoming the crap life throws at you and manning up. the narrators are perfect for this cast of characters.

it was okay

i loved the performance more than the story. The hero had a one night stand and then met up with the h for the road trip with a few friends including his one night stand. Although the author made this woman more like a " friend", it still ruined the romance between the H and h. I'm glad this story was short. i would have ended if it was longer. I wouldn't give over all rating low score unless it was poor writing which it was not in this story. Unfortunately, for me, a good romance, there shouldn't be the other woman involved. It was the reason i gave this story one star. This move, as a reader, i had a hard time connecting with the main characters.

Great Series, Awful Book!

I’ve enjoyed all of the books in the Hero Club series up to this one. I can’t say exactly why, other than I didn’t feel a connection to even one character in the story. I had to actively keep my hands from hitting pause and deleting the book before it ended.
