Aodhan clutched uselessly at his head, groaning. He knew it was useless, because the voice was not inside his head. It followed him, skimming across buildings and land. It had followed him since he was sixteen, and it still followed him today, like a memory too horrific to be forgotten…
Aodhan is a shadow-demon, hardened and cold after years of being alone, after his love, his Entwined, was cruelly taken away from him. He has closed his heart to the world, and now spends his life ridding the world of men like those who took his beloved away, an immortal hit-man…
Arianwen Harris is a young DCI, working for York City Police. When a known criminal is found viciously killed, she finds herself trailing a hit-man who has seemed to escape clutches again and again…but she begins to find herself drawn to his dark charms and roguish good looks…
As their two worlds collide, Aodhan and Arianwen find themselves coming together to escape a far greater enemy, one that threatens to create a world far worse than the one they live in. As they battle to hold back the oncoming forces, fate has another plan; one to draw them together and heal their broken pasts together…

Fast-paced, fun, uniqueWho was your favorite character and why?
Ariawen. She is a strong female that doesn't take any crap. I loved her attitude.Which character – as performed by Matthew Lloyd Davies – was your favorite?
Aodhan. The narrator played his character well. It made it really easy to picture him in my mind. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened to this book in more than one sitting, but it really does keep your attention.Any additional comments?
That narrator was great and made the story very enjoyable to listen to.Awesome!

Who was your favorite character and why?
Aodhan. I quite enjoy books where the protagonist is centuries old. What about Matthew Lloyd Davies’s performance did you like?
I loved his accents. 5/5Any additional comments?
Its worth getting. It is funny and the concept is rather unique. Especialy liked how Demons weren't something inherently evil and didn't come from hell, but rather occationaly from human beings.Funny, exciting and fast paced

Would you listen to Vigilante of Shadows again? Why?
Yes, because I found it entertaining. It grabbed my attention and I loved Aohdan (I'm sure I'm still spelling his name wrong but oh well). What was one of the most memorable moments of Vigilante of Shadows?
Um, well there was that one sex scene that my husband just happened to get into the car while I was listening to. It was a rather steamy scene. In all serious though, I loved hearing about the drive to his home and the description of it along with all the other supernatural creatures that took up residence there. What does Matthew Lloyd Davies bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Very good characterization.Sexy Scottish Demon, creative, gripping story!

This is a great book, it's a little slow but then not really. A little different take on paranormal romance. It's very interesting and sticks with you. I got this as a free Kindle book with $1.99 Whispersynch and gave it a try a year ago. Doing a re-listen now as I await the release of another book in 3 days and wondering why I did not continue with a series I obviously liked and was interested in, I checked with Google. There are 3 more books in this series, but they are not in audiobook format. :(
This is really sad because the NARRATOR IS FABULOUS!!!!! I am totally checking to see if he narrates anything else I might like. Plus, the only negative reviews about the books seem to be that the author writes out the Scottish brogue inflections of some of the characters, and readers find it distracting, SO GET THEE TO THE RECORDING STUDIO, and let the amazing narrator worry about all that pesky reading---problem solved.
As of this date, the Kindle/Whispersynch option is still available and you can give this great story a try for just $1.99. It is totally worth it just for the narrator's voice, but I think you'll find it intriguing beyond that, and I DO hope we can get the rest someday.
Where are the rest??
