Quite enjoyable!

I’m an adult listening to kids books because my daughter is pursuing a master’s degree in library science and needs opinions.
First, Bahni Turpin, the narrator, is phenomenal! I was so used to listening to autobiography’s narrated by the writer (usually monotone) that her work on this recording felt like a ray of sunshine! She seamlessly navigated the voices for the different characters so much so that, with the guidance of the talented writer, you could imagine their faces!
Speaking of the writing, incredible imagery and detail. I was easily able to follow along in my head and watch the “movie”. The storyline moves great at the beginning. It did slow up bit at the halfway point, but never got boring! I love the premise, it’s fun! As an adult reader, I had to question a couple of incidents. I have not read the first 2 books in the series, but the “mystery” was more “teen “ than I was expecting, then again, I have been out of the kids books loop for quite awhile. The overall story was definitely a young reader status. I enjoyed it.
