About this listen

A young girl named Beverly Stone has a dream of becoming the next sensational pop singer. Things couldn’t be any better than this, or so she thought. On the night of her graduation, her lifelong friend Jeanie is involved in a fatal car crash. The grieving young girl blames herself.

After experiencing several mishaps similar in nature, Beverly convinces herself that she is jinxed. To prevent bringing this terrible curse on others, she avoids getting emotionally involved with anyone. Yet, with the passing of time, family and friends finally convince her to pursue a career as a singer/songwriter. Those that describe her talent simply say ‘she has the voice of an angel’ which soon becomes her driving force.

Yet, Larry Carter is disappointed when she refuses to marry him. Beverly uses the excuse that the music business is difficult to conquer. On the night of her first major concert, she is so nervous she vows to marry him if her songs are well received. The audience goes wild, and after completing the performance, Beverly and Larry leave the auditorium to celebrate. Tragedy strikes again and this time she goes into seclusion for five long years.

Finally a famous singer, Mark Owens, mysteriously comes into her life and convinces her to perform with him. The audience loves it, but Beverly suffers from emotional problems that prevent her from performing on stage. These issues send her life into a downward spiral once again. Soon she learns even having the voice of an angel is not enough to succeed as an entertainer. Will Beverly Stone be able to overcome these problems and salvage her career? Or will Mark Owens give up on her and walk away from this partnership?
