About this listen

"Wage-Labor and Capital" is an 1847 essay on economics by Karl Marx, which was first published in the Neue Rheinische Zeitung two years later. This essay has been widely acclaimed as the precursor to Marx’s important treatise, Das Kapital.

A solid primer for Marx's later works. It's important to see how his ideas began and then evolved over time. For me, this was far more readable than Kapital in either print or audio. The narration was excellent, and I suspect that is why it was so digestible. The narrator for the main 3 volumes of Das Kapital on Audible makes the text even more of dense, turgid slog than it already is.

An excellent introduction to Marx

The language is tough because of the time frame it was written in but otherwise the book is incredible. So much information in such a short read. One of the better books on political economy.

Important in understanding where wages come from
