Warden of Time continues the story of time travel, romance, and adventure begun with Daughter of Time.
As both a modern man and medieval king, David is committed to transforming medieval England into his own version of Avalon. Not everyone supports his ideals, however, and having offended the pope by welcoming Jews and heretics into England, David is summoned to Canterbury to explain himself.
But when information comes to light that reveals the accusations against him have less to do with religion than with power and wealth, David finds himself on familiar ground - and at the center of a conspiracy that stretches from Ireland to Italy. Facing excommunication, a fickle populace, and a rebellion even by his fellow time travelers, he must decide what his throne is worth, and what he's willing to sacrifice to keep it.
Warden of Time is book eight in the After Cilmeri series.

I feel like Laurel's performance has improved. She is loosening up and doesn't sound as stiff as she used to. That helps too.
The "said" books.

Would you listen to Warden of Time: The After Cilmeri Series Book 8 again? Why?
Of course. It's very well narrated, an excellent story overall, and I like having books I've enjoyed reading on audio so I can listen at work.Who was your favorite character and why?
I don't really have a favorite character. I realize that they do seem to be centered on one main character per story (or two), but I love them all. The world itself is so intricately detailed that while you might hate the villains, I find it difficult to pick just one or two characters I favor above the rest.Which character – as performed by Laurel Schroeder – was your favorite?
She does an amazing job with them all. The accents, the voice pitching, and the level of emotion in each sentence keeps the books interesting. Although if I had to pick one she does perfectly, I'd have to say that'd be Lily. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I wanted to, but alas I could not. Only took me a few days of it though. Every spare moment I could, I picked up my phone and my headset and started listening. This is probably one of my favorite books in the series.Any additional comments?
Absolutely love the whole series. Can't wait for the next one to come out on Kindle and the next audiobook to be released. Sarah's an amazing author.Eagerly waiting the next

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
This is the 10th book I've listened to and it needs to be re-recorded. There are parts all over the book that hiccup and you hear the reader in a different tone. It sets you back. The first time this happened, I thought, ok, maybe they missed something and added back in. The 100th time this happened, I was frustrated and annoyed. You keep hearing parts, usually no more than a few words of the story said in a different tone. Almost like someone came in after the fact, in a different time and place and recorded it. When you listen to audiobooks, you tend to get into a rhythm w the reader and you're on a journey w them, time and place. When parts of what they say go from the normal tone of their reading style to something WAY OFF, it jolts you out of the story and makes you loose where you were. If this makes sense. It didn't just happen once, it kept happening and was very annoying to listen to. None of the other books were like this or I would not be on the 10th. It needs to be re-recorded and or the many, many bloopers need to be fixed and flow w the rest.Any additional comments?
You need to know history of the area, castles and people of this time to really get this series. While I know a lot of history in England, Whales, etc, it's not from this time (1400's on) and I've been a little lost on places, castles and "true events" from the time period these stories take place. True, this is a fiction novel, however, it still has a lot of history that really went on and knowing a bit about it before you read it would be helpful and help you follow. I will finish the series, do research and re-read/re-listen and I know I will get a lot more out of the series when I do.Sloppy Recording
