I liked the narrator -except when she was doing most of the children's voices, they were a bit fearing at times ( same with the skaven voices) , though her standard narration voice was lovely.

this is definitely a kid's book though so it was a fun adventure to listen to and quite cute, but don't expect to see anything dark here.

not sure if it's just the new life or the writer but, I remember skaven being 6-7' tall in lore Canon 🤔 either way they're much smaller here too, dunno that was just a thing that kept coming up and it irked me.

yep, lots of 🐀

I really liked the first book, but it was quite a while ago. Looking back at the review it seemed like I loved it, and i do have fond memories of bits and pieces of it. This book just didn't seem to hold up.

As I said, it had been a few years since the first book for me, and this book doesn't really give any character development support or reminders. I can understand that it is only 2 hours and needs to hurry up and not spend time reviewing previous books. With the break I had though, all the characters were pretty much exactly the same in this book until probably the last 3rd of the book when I finally pulled a few characters out of the group.

The narration was perfect, and I though Piper did a very good job of making the characters voices both different as well as childish. It really reminded me of watching the early harry potter movies, and her voices really worked to remind us that this is a children's story, as well as about children.

Overall, a let down, but I recognize part of this is me not remembering the first book. I will be giving the next one a try to see if it gets better.

didn't hold up like the first one

the book is not bad.... but the narrator fluctuates a lot between low and high pitch. too much whispers and shouts... when im at the gym i cant hear the whispers.... even at maximum... and then there are the shouts..... thats annoying when the sound is at maximum... for this one it would be good to have the closed captions.... lol

poor editing work
